dKos: Barbara Boxer will join Conyers if enough calls!
This title was posted over at dKos by ssteuer:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/1/4/15113/86778

I hope this hasn't been posted already, and if so, my apologies.

Part of that post includes an email:

From : Lydia F
Just came from a group which gathered at Senator Barbara Boxer's Office here in Fresno. There were about 20 of us representing Fresno, Visalia, Porterville and Springville. It was awesome since they had to come to Fresno through the rain... We were told that Senator Boxer was willing to be the Senator who will ask for the re-election in Ohio provided she sees numbers. This is a grassroots effort and it depends on each of us to pass this information on. (see below for offices and phone numbers)

Offices and phone numbers are on the dKos thread. All you Californians are especially encouraged to call. Little more than 24 hours to go.

One ringy dingy. . . two ringy dingies

PS Some of the initial posts were a little leary about whether Boxer really wanted slews of phone calls, but as you read through the posts, I think you'll find that she really IS looking for support in "numbers".

7. If you can FAX . . .
that might be best. Voicemail might get full. I'm FAXing tomorrow, as a past resident of CA, with many friends still there.

9. Make those phone calls.
Personally, as a Libertarian that demands all my rights be honored, I don't want to see Kerry or Bush become president. However, the truth of the matter is that the entire election was a farce and if *anyone* becomes president until these issues are resolved we will be a nation with a tyrant-in-chief.

I just want to state that I admire how the Greens and many Dems are demanding that all irregularities are investigated. The most fundamental right in a free nation is that you are allowed to vote without opposition, your vote is counted, it is counted accurately, and then tabulated correctly. If everyone's vote is not counted correctly and accurately then we cannot even pretend to live in a democratic republic!

Some of my fellow Libertarians have claimed that we are wasting tax payer dollars with the recount(s). However, even as a Libertarian, I believe the ONE PROGRAM that deserves AS MUCH FUNDING AS IT TAKES until it is done correctly is our elections, period!

If we can spend a hundred billion dollars in a boondoggle of a war terrorizing millions of innocent Iraqi's (much more than Saddam ever did) then why can't we fund our own elections until they are done correctly, accurately, and completely!!!!

8. Numbers of people
to call offering her support for contesting. I think she feels she needs a large enough constituency to be at her back.

16. Women usually come through when the chips are down!
Unlike Men, they're often less afraid to break with tradition.

Go Barbara!
