4. And also that it will change nothing - Bush w/be elected.
Perhaps they have to say that. But he implied that it will just be a chance to be heard -- and it means nothing.

9. He said that Bush will be elected, but that it would force a debate
and a debate is necessary. It's one way we can prevent some of these issues from rotting our electoral system for years to come.

I know, way too much to ask of this corporate media.

31. Yes, many will say just that
But this isn't only about the 2004 Election, as critical as that is. It is about taking all of the steps needed to protect the underpinnings of our Democracy, even if the effects come to late to undo this low point in American History.

Since Boxer and hopefully others standing up now will be historic, it can't be completely ignored, and completely ignored is the Republican and media strategy: "A few small glitches but the Election overall went smoothly, and aren't those new touch screen voting machines nifty, and so easy to use..."

Blast that myth right our of the water. Make our elected representatives seriously deal with the lack of voting safe guards. Make the media acknowledge that there IS a real issue here, even if they cling to accepting that Bush won this time.

Boxer would show courage in going up against the scorn that will be coming her way if she stands for us tomorrow. I will never forget her, and any other Democrat (or Republican) who shows that courage.

Our Democratic leadership fecking well needs to stand up and grow a spine. If they don't do this they'll just piss off their base. I don't care what the MSM say, if someone does this then it will restore my faith in the Democratic party.

44. Had they ever stopped?
I am puzzled by so many posters that seem to believe that the overall political situation would change for the worse if the Democrats challenge the highly suspect election results of the November '04 elections. It seems to me that the MSM and the G.O.P. Rove controlled machine has been "spinning" the Democrats to death for the last few years on every issue. How much worse can it get? We have lost power nationally and are in the process of handing the G.O.P. control over the majority of the state governments. If we continue to sit back and wring our hands with worry and not fight THIS battle, we will someday wake to find the radical right wing and the fundies adding amendments to the Constitution at will with nothing to stop them. This fight is about so much more than John Kerry and we need to realize that time is not on our side.

28. I saw somewhere that both the House and Senate will go to their
chambers and the leadership would confer and decide how to do the debate.

That part sounds like trouble to me.

How "open" do we think the leadership of the Senate and House are going to be about debating these issues?

You know they will do everything they can to try to limit and suppress any airing of all the problems that occurred.

Has anyone else heard much about what would happen if it would get to this point?

...that we should *not* be perpetually disappointed? I'm not yet to the point that I'm completely jaded by all the corruption.

A significant challenge to the so-called election would be a good thing, but the fact of the Unelected Fraud will remain. The fascists will continue their assault on human life, the environment, and democracy. If I get to cheer for a few minutes tomorrow, the state of American politics will still suck.

50. Email Senator Boxer Too
Dear Senator Boxer:

I want to commend you for your upcoming COURAGEOUS action in objecting along with many of your House colleagues to to acceptance of Ohio's slate of electors. History will judge the disenfranchisement of primarily African-American voters very harshly. There was an effective POLL TAX on November 2nd. The pictures and videos of the lines in Ohio confirm this fact. I believe a thorough investigation of voting 'mistabulations' and election officials actions must be begun right now. I know you share the view that vote suppression is totally Un-American.

As a middle-class white guy living in the midwest it makes me feel ashamed and outraged that the Ohio SOS and other election officials would treat people that way when all these people were trying to do was VOTE as is their RIGHT.

Unless someone stands up and holds the actions of this ruthless administration to task I believe democracy as we know it will be lost. This administration does not compromise, period. Please yell loud and long and hold their feet to the fire!

You can be assured that by standing up against this travesty that history will judge you kindly - you must be absolutely confident of that! When you stand up for democracy you will have the undying admiration of millions!
