Just spoke with John Conyers office in DC!
They transferred me to the Judiciary Committee spokesperson. I asked if the office had heard anything more definitive on Senatorial support in the EC contest. She replied, "No, Ma'am." I then asked if an official statement had purposely not been released in order to avoid tipping the hand of the participants, thereby sparking a firestorm of criticism and complaint. She was obviously smiling when she said, "Yes, Ma'am."

I just literally SKIPPED to my computer to tell y'all! Call and ask the same questions so you can skip around, too!

:D

4. Conyers said in his interview on AAR today that they had senators
that would stand up with them. When asked who, he told them it was not wise to give names, that it was not a wise tactic. He sounded pretty darned confident! :-)

6. Yes, Ma'am! I'll help campaign for your cat to be President!
Your cat has gotta be better than anyone who has held the office in recent memory - won't get us into any wars bigger than backyard spats and probably does a great job using its own litterbox and not leaving its 'dumps' in other peoples' backyards.

13. Now wait a minute there.
MY cat should be President.

She doesn't take crap from anyone. She warns, but if you challenge her, she bites.

She has more dignity than anyone who has held office recently.

That other cat can be Vice-President. It has to be healthier and less evil than Cheney.

17. Sorry, but I doubt you want to have the "whose cat is cooler"
argument with me! Besides, I have four to choose from, each with its own strengths. But I think Patrick O' Pumpkin is my favorite Presidential pick, as he is likeable, yet fiercely loyal, running other cats off the property with nary a scratch.

:)

that one by one, all the democratic senators will stand up tomorrow...then, reluctantly at first, several Repubs joined them...now I need a cry and a nap

When I get back up I will make a last ditch FLURRY of calls-I promise :)

24. It's kinda like
election night all over again, huh?

Maybe a contest won't change the President, but at least the news will have to cover it, finally (I hope).

14. I just called Bingaman's office
They said he does support Conyers, but that they still don't know if he will stand. How can you support Conyers and not stand? I think he is sitting on the fence. Will you all call his office too?

19. We need to be strong
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 02:26 PM by Pam-Moby
as an organization and not give up on this election. I believe that no matter what happens tomorrow we need along with many other org's that feel that this was once again a stolen election to join together and rise up as the Ukraine did and impose that this is not acceptable and possibly the whole election needs to be re dun. Our government felt that this was the case in the Ukraine but they are attempting to hide the fact that there was more evidence within our election showing the suppression and fraud than in the Ukraine. WE MUST NOT GIVE UP!!! WE SHOULD STORM WASHINGTON IN MILLIONS OF NUMBERS!!
