2. If no senator stands there will be a real problem with the democratic base |
|
I think the party realizes that and will not allow themselves to be trampled again.

4. I couldn't get Lautenberg's position on it |
|
I called his office and asked whoever answered if he would take a stand, but the person didn't know if he would or not. I then said that I hope that he supports Rep. Conyers.

10. i've never said no Senator will stand |
|
and I can't recall any threads started that claimed that (though I certainly could be wrong on that). I've argued that I believe a Senator refusing to certify could be deleterious to the cause of electoral reform. I still believe it's a dicey endeavor. I hope I'm wrong, and I hope that if Senator Boxer and others join with Rep Conyers, it will start us on the road to much needed reform.

12. Hey, I just meant in general |
|
And in fact, there were two very specific ones that had almost those exact words in the thread titles. One of which was deleted ( - there were at least 2 deleted threads yesterday that I posted in, it's kinda wierd - one of them is the one you and I chatted in yesterday.) because when I go through 'my posts' to find it it says 'Missing Topic'. The other one I didn't post in.
I am generally not a negative person - I like logic and optimism. Earlier this week, I had to force the optimism because I felt bombarded NOT with realism, but with pessimism. There is a difference, even when reality looks bad I am not pessimistic. Today, I finally feel that the optimism on this board is winning out. I am happy about that. That's all. It's not about anyone in particular.

21. I still don't believe a Senator will stand |
|
but if they do, I predict dire consequences.
If the Democrats go with the nuclear option on the certification of electors, expect the nuclear option on the filibustering of judicial nominees.

who have invaded us and not the freepers..
:tinfoilhat:
have a lot of very conservatives Dem's claiming Nothing to see here.. move along.. no fraud happened.. move along. Becoming quite a trend the closer we get to the 6th. The more they seem to try and discourage protests, and phone calls, and convince the masses there is nothing to see.
hmmmmmm makes you wonder doesn't it?
Discouragement comes in how many varieties?

I remember,"sigh", the anti-war movement in the 60's and 70's. It started soooo small, and everyone just knew that it wouldn't ever amount to anything. That's why we're still at war with north vietnam.
The battle to have every vote count, and be counted, does not end tomorrow, or the 20th. One brick at a time we will build our case for fair, honest elections. I believe. :)

and having a Senator stand up tomorrow would add a really big brick, IMHO. I think it will be a powerful statement and will increase awareness and coverage in a major way.
I was at the rally in Columbus in early December, and the symposium afterward with Arnebeck & Fitrakis etc, and that was the feeling I had - that it was really small, and really really important, and I was grateful to be a part of it at its beginning.

Don't let the fr get you down. This is historical and beautiful and -- I gotta say -- we had a boatload to do with it! Go DU! Not bad for a bunch of conspiracy theorists wearing TFHs? Yes!

People at the rally in Columbus, the Conyer's hearings, and in DC this week, are putting together the framework for a future that frightens many people.
Thank you for standing up for your beliefs, and our country.:)
