I had posted a warning to watch out for rumors just before evening voters
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 01:02 PM by kentuck
on election day. It is now in archives and cannot be retrieved but the rumor that hurt the Democratic Party, in my opinion, soon after I had posted the warning, was the exit poll numbers that were showing so favorably in Kerry's direction. I think it is possible that those numbers may have encouraged more Repubs to get to the polls in the evening and given Democrats an excuse not to go. Why should they? Kerry was going to win anyway. Did these "exit polls" have that effect on the voters??

1. Yes they did and I was one of the FEW who condemned the...
practice of allowing exit polls to be posted.

No need for further discussion.

8. Do you have a link for this graphic or a smaller version of it?
I want to post it on my website.

Thanks in advance.

2. FWIW: Most European Countries forbid the publication of polls
while the polling stations are still open. For exactly the reason you've stated in your post.

First of all, this election was definitely rigged. I have no doubt
about it. It's a statistical impossibility that Bush got 8 million more
votes than he got last time.
In 2000, he got 15 million votes from
right-wing Christians, and there are approximately 19 million of them
in the country. They were eager to get the other 4 million. That was
pretty much Karl Rove's strategy to get Bush elected.

But given Bush's low popularity ratings and the enormous number of new
voters -- who skewed Democratic -- there is no way in the world that
Bush got 8 million more votes this time. I think it had a lot to do
with the electronic voting machines.

6. But there were still long lines of
Kerry voters well into the night. I don't buy for a minute that he lost.
