I Wrote Sen. Bayh
I know he is a DLC man, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to remind him that the issue of vote fraud could still cause him a big problem if no Senator rises and he runs for President in '08. The opportunity for third party candidates to exploit the vote fraud issue by claiming that the Democrats have failed in the last three election cycles to fight for Democracy is enormous. It will surely cause a not insignificant number of Democrats to leave the party and vote for any third party candidate promising to fight for honest balloting. If there is truth to the allegations of massive vote fraud, his chances of winning the presidency in '08 are nil because the G.O.P. will continue cheating until they are caught. If he and other Dem. Senators do not rise tomorrow, he will still lose in '08 because of the mass defections to third parties by disaffected Democrats. If he stands tomorrow in objection and fraud is later uncovered, his name will span the ages of American history. If he stands and no massive fraud is proved to have occured, he will have displayed his courage and commitment to fight for the bedrock principle of free, honest and fair elections and he might keep the Democratic Party united enough in order to even have a shot in '08.
