I was faxing senators, and decided to send this to Kerry:

Dear Senator Kerry,

As a member of DemocraticUnderground.com, I have witnessed a tremendous outpouring of concern over the validity of this last election.

Many of us believe, based on an ever-growing body of evidence, that you were wrongfully denied victory, in Ohio, in Florida, and in the national popular vote.

Those of us at DU, as you may know, have spent countless hours since the election in trying to make sense of results that just don't add up, and trying to document as much as possible. We believe in democracy. We believe in you.

Today I am faxing a letter to a number of senators that reads as follows:

"As an admirer of your service in the U.S. Senate, I ask that you please stand with Rep. Conyers in challenging the lawfulness of the Ohio electors.

To allow the kind of orchestrated electoral manipulations perpetrated by J. Kenneth Blackwell and the owners of privatized voting technology to stand would be to render irrelevant all the protections of the sanctity of the vote that so many have worked, fought, and even died for."

Please know, Senator, the heartache that so many of us have felt in the growing realization that this election was manipulated to deprive you of the victory that you fairly won.

5. Good letter Bleever, you know, over these last two + months I

heard people saying not Kerry, he can't stand with Conyers because it would be bad form. I thought, how odd, to put etiquette, politeness, manners, you know, that sort of thing ahead of criminal behavior. I mean, it would have been bad form for Gore in 2000, but hindsight being 20/20 how I wish he would have. These BushCo creeps stop at nothing and we're like, well it just wouldn't be fittin' for so-and-so to stand. I mean, there's political considerations I am sure, especially if it's your political career. Still, given the horrible things this administration has done I could certainly overlook and/or forgive (hell, I'd even applaud) throwing manners out the door on this one.

11. Less ettiquette than trying to win the media spin

We don't want to give them something to latch on to as in 2000. "Sore Losermann" didn't do us any good.

Besides, we need to take the focus off of Kerry and put it on to the vote. Because at this point, much as I want it, there is little hope of gettiing a President Kerry. But we do have some hope of fixing the vote. That's what I'm working for now.

I'd rather it was NOT Kerry contesting, just to make that point. It will have a better chance of being taken seriously if we don't make it about Kerry winning.

Dear Senator Kerry,

I tried calling the numbers you requested we call and the voice mails are filled up. I'll keep calling and keep writing and am thankful for the leadership Representative Conyer's has provided to many of us.

I'm sorry you will not be there tomorrow to be the first one to stand, to many it would have sent a strong message to the Republicans. I can't judge your decision since I am not in your shoes but I am disappointed, we really needed a leader.
