Especially if (haha) he's going to be Christian about it.

Matthew 6: 1 - 4
1 "Beware of practicing your piety before men in order to be seen by them; for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. 2 "Thus, when you give alms, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by men. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your alms may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Pretty sure the bush family are billionaires by now, what with all the war profiteering and racketeering and fraud. And all.

12. not even close
The Bush family put together hasn't got close to a billion dollars. They've been in public life, their tax records are public.

Bush's presidential salary is a few hundred thousand dollars, as I understand, so this is a noticible chunk of his yearly income. Don't disdain charity, no matter what the source.

6. I'd say this is proof he didn't need the tax cut he gave himself
and the rest of corporate America. In fact it is proof he should raise taxes on the rich.

8. Not at all! This is a small fraction of this years' tax bonanza for Bush
he saved more like thirty grand this year. And he'll have another thirty grand to not give to a charity next year.

15. unbelievable
I can't believe you are using THIS as a way to bash B*!

There are PLENTY of things to give him grief about:

Imperialistic policies

Terrible foreign Policy

Unilateral, disastrous decisions

certain nominees

But to use a man's donation to a good cause in order to bash him is PATHETIC. You actually want him to raise taxes s people will give less money DIRECTLY to charity? THat's what your post makes it sound like.

For God's sake, let's stay on target and make real changes...this line of attack will only bring scorn on US!

9. He pledged 350 Million but surprise
he doesn't seem to keep his pledges. He's pledged billions and sent maybe a million. I remember hearing how he pledged all this money for AIDS to Africa ... they have yet to see a dime.
