If Bob Shrum isn't the Repubs secret weapon then I'll
eat my hat.

If he ever gets close to another Dem candiate of any sort then the we should put him in a box and launch him with the next satellite.

The guy simply sucks.

1. He doesn't suck. He is very effective at appealing to our base.
But, one thing is for sure...he does NOT get the culture war, and for that alone, he needs to take a back seat during future general elections.

5. What base would that be, pray tell?
Shrummie was responsible for making Kerry's candidacy about Viet Nam, possibly the stupidest decision in modern political history, and then he thought it was best not to dignify the Swift Boat crap with a reply. Play nice and win the non-existent "swing voters" by making sure to do nothing they could possibly view as negative ... that was his excuse for strategy

What base would that appeal to, do ya think?

2. I feel I can safely predict...
That Mr. Shrum will be pursuing other career paths in the future.

Who know? He might keep his hand in with dogcatcher elections.

4. Don't be too sure

I (and a lot of other people) thought the same thing after what he did to Bob Casey Jr.'s campaign during the Pennsylvania Democratic Gubenatorial primary race. He almost cost Casey his political career, after urging him to "go negative" early (against another Dem, for crying out loud).

And I thought about Bob Casey when I heard Schrum was working for the Kerry campaign.
