Spreading Support: Daily Kos now supports Election Challenge
(reposted after being bumped from LBN - Kos isn't accepted LBN source.)

This is great, though not written Markos himself. it is currently at the top of the front page of Kos. Posted by "Hunter" It specifically refers to the Georgia10 diary and another. He says he changed his mind.

Senators: Contest the Vote

I cannot speak for anyone but myself; there is no such thing as an "editorial board" on Daily Kos, only individual opinions.
After giving this much thought, I am signing on to the notion that indeed, Democratic Representatives and Senators should contest the Ohio electors tomorrow. That was not my opinion a week ago, but it is now. I've changed my mind not because new evidence has been presented, or new arguments have arisen, but because, in the climate of today, right now, this moment, I believe that Congress is in a tactical position to make a difference.

I do not believe any evidence exists to claim that Kerry definitively received more votes in Ohio than Bush, and I believe the oft-cited exit poll evidence, in particular, is weak. But this election needs to be contested on more fundamental grounds; as an objection to the behavior of partisan election officials, unwilling to take seriously the sacred nature of their duties.

In the last day, two excellent essays (by georgia10 and pointsoflight) have been written describing events in Ohio. Both are strongest in their descriptions of the blatantly partisan, obfuscating, and almost certainly illegal actions of the Ohio Secretary of State, Kenneth Blackwell.

3. And?
This isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. Sounds kind of like JK to me. Well, we didn't win....but....might as well look at stuff. Come On! There's Fraud big enough to drive a truck through, and Kerry Did Win....Get Over It!

not only for the Daily Kos blog itself -- which is one of the top Democratic blogs, as you know -- but also as indicating that some of the people who have been saying "Move on, the Republicans won" can be reasoned with. The Georgia10 Kos diary referred to in the home page Kos article I posted about caused a firestorm of comment both at the Kos site and here on the DU board:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x230100

In case you didn't see it, the title of that thread was "Markos (from Daily Kos) bitch-slapped." And boy, was he. If you haven't read the Georgia10 Kos diary linked to in the DU thread above, don't miss it.

The fact that the unequivocal article by Hunter this evening was posted on the Kos home page instead of being buried in the diaries as all the previous serious talk about election fraud was is a major departure for that blog, even though Markos himself did not write it.

We need to bring in the "move-ons" to join us "fraud-firsts" to make the strongest possible push for investigation and exposure of the election fraud. Changing their minds is a major step toward doing this, and what happened today at Kos shows that happening.

(Self-edited to add:)
Another point of significance for the Daily Kos coming online for election challenge and serious investigation is its demonstrated ability to raise money for political causes. This was pointed out by the last DU respondent in the thread I linked to above, and it is something I hadn't thought about. If there is need for fundraising to support investigative or legal efforts, the efforts of venues like the Daily Kos could make an important contribution.
