Pelosi thinks other things more important?
I swear I heard that on MSNBC tonight - Nancy Pelosi is not happy about the challenge and thinks the House and Senate should be spending the time on issues like Tsunami aid instead? I can't find a link to it, but I heard it.

I just sent her an email demanding that election fraud/voter intimidation be given the #1 priority on Congress. It is very unsettling to me that someone in her position is minimizing this issue.

If you want to contact her as well, here's her contact info:

(202) 225-4965, by fax at (202) 225-8259, or by email at

3. Are You Sure?
Did she really, truly say that?

First of all, what's to debate about disaster aid? Either give it, or don't. Besides, under Shrub's policies, we're obviously more concerned with Iraqi spending than disaster aid.

If she is trying to squelch the subject, she's a loser, and an example of why I am questioning ever supporting the democratic party again.

4. You heard it...
That's what I heard. My feeling is what's more important than our democracy. Don't get me wrong...I think that there are other important things. But not MORE important things.

5. Think about it for a second.
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 09:57 PM by FreepFryer
Do you think Pelosi thinks the election was fraudless?

No.

Pelosi is in the GOP's crosshairs now, FAR more than Boxer, for her role in the House Ethics debacle and other stands she has taken.

She is one politician I would support either way on this, but if she had lended her name to it yesterday, I GUARANTEE she'd be smeared ALL OVER the press today.

In my opinion, better for her to focus elsewhere and give others this spearhead position, regardless of whether she supports it or not.

Or am I ruining a Pelosi-bash post?

16. Then Don't Say Anything
Momma always said, if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. For her to bring it up with disgust, and say we are wasting time talking about it to begin with, it makes her a loser. If she wants to cover her butt, then don't say anything. But to treat members of her own party like conspiracy nuts, wasting her time, shows us she could care less about our support.

Fine....then I won't support her, or respect her for that matter.

21. Not meant to bash, but to contact
Any Rep or Senator who makes such a statement needs to hear from us. The point is, she can be smeared all over the press but would still keep her credibility with the Democratic base. She should be supporting John Conyers and the othe Reps who still have spines and scruples.

They just don't get it. They are losing their most faithful workers and supporters with antics such as this. Who is she trying to impress?

I'm not totally bashing Nancy. There have been times she has stood up for us, and I appreciate that. This, however, is the most important issue ever and deserves her backing.

If she were pro-challenge, they'd be crosshairing on her, not Boxer.

Actually I felt she was and still is a bad pick. She isn't strong, kinda ditsy and is more of the lame inept mentality that got us into this mess.

Where is she in all of this. You seem to be a huge fan of hers, what's her position on contesting? Wouldn't you think a leader of our party should be the first one in-line for something this serious?

34. Step one - don't let your opponent know the rules you play by.
I'm not a fan, I'm a Democrat. And we've got a majority of Repubs in the House and Senate to concentrate on.

EATING OUR OWN IS NOT DEMOCRACY.

36. please
No one is eating their own. Having Pelosi on-board in our party and having her as leader are two different things.

and I doubt heavily that she is playing some kind or psyops game with repukes over this issue. I think the comments attributed to her in the opening post are more than likely true. They fall in-line with what Clinton and others were saying.

Just wait and see her response when it comes time to choose a new DNC chairman and the volume of mail and calls that creates.

It's a new day, Congresswoman. Get your head out of the cockpit and look around, check your six. There is something coming up on it.

People. Democrats. We're locked and loaded and ready to rumble.

10. Yeah, I heard that as well, but please consider the source.
I didn't catch the correspondent's name, I think it was Viqueira, or something similar.

Please remember the MSM, and believe me that includes Countdown on MSNBC, doesn't want to hear about the problems in Ohio.

I really rather doubt that Mr. Reid and Ms. Pelosi think that investigating voter disenfranchisement and voter fraud isn't an important issue.

The MSM correspondents shouldn't be referred to as "talking heads", I think it would be more appropriate to call them "spinning heads".

when I saw her shortly after the election on CNN quoting the bible in an interview. She didn't do it well. The interviewer's mouth fell open. She bought into all that God and values bs and was obviously trying to turn over a new leaf and try the right. I lost my respect for her at that moment.

35. Not freep. Truly as reported by the unillustrious MSNBC.
Not just Pelosi mentioned, but Reid also.

Who is that woman, anyway, that anchor? She said, "As you recall, in 2001 no Senator was willing to sign." (paraphrasing)

Bullcrap! Gore specifically requested that no Senator sign.

No wonder Americans are so ignorant about what's going on. Furthermore, when they showed a clip of Ohio problems, it looked like nothing wrong at all, just business as usual. They did not show a clip from the video of voters standing in the dark, in the rain, cramped in the gym.

Liberal media, my a**. :nuke:

This kind of disregard for defending our basic democratic processes should not go unnoticed now or be forgotten later. We had enough spinelessness with Daschle and don't need more of it in the Dem leadership now of all times.
