FBI investigating vote fraud in East St. Louis
I think it's interesting that the FBI is investigating vote fraud in East St. Louis (fraud likely committed by Democrats) but I have not heard similar stories about the FBI investigating vote fraud by Republicans, such as in Ohio.

My immediate reaction was to think that it's kinda "funny" that the FBI gets involved when the target is Democrats in a poor black community.

My second reaction, though, was I wonder if there are more stories like this one. And perhaps that's why our Dem leaders seem so reluctant to press the vote fraud issue against the Republicans.

I hate how paranoid I have become. I just don't know what to think anymore.

Absentee voting in East St. Louis investigated

A second investigation into claims of voter fraud in East St. Louis during the election Nov. 2 has been launched, this time by St. Clair County State's Attorney Robert Haida.

Haida's investigation is limited to 13 absentee votes that were cast from a boardinghouse in East St. Louis. The federal government has declined to talk about its case, but a search warrant issued during an FBI raid at East St. Louis City Hall on Nov. 23 indicates that the reach is much greater.

Oliver Hamilton, a Democratic precinct committeeman, owns the boardinghouse, at 1232 Cleveland Avenue, targeted by the investigation.

Eleven computer hard drives seized in the East St. Louis City Hall raid were returned on Monday. FBI agents said other items seized were being retained as the investigation continues. The federal government search warrants say the items were taken to help in the investigation of election fraud, mail fraud and "obstruction of an official proceeding by the destruction of records."

2. Guido on the loose
I think the FBI is being used in this country, the way the CIA is being used abroad by this administration--as hired thugs. East St. Louis? Gimmee a break! Turn them loose in Ohio, or Florida, or New Mexico, or or or........

3. I have wondered about this. If true that ONLY Dem fraud...
is investigated, as it appears -- I've been following this story for some time -- it seems to me a case can be made for grossly unequal enforcement of the election laws, apparently driven by partisan decisions by government officials. I really hope someone is looking into this possibility.

Fantasy: An interdepartmental email is found:
"To Dick Bozo, my contact in the FBI; from Buford Hubris, Bush admin gofer:
My boss's boss, (You-know-who, rhymes with Snarl Cove), says that we need to get some good examples of election fraud by DEMOCRATS so we can make them look bad. After all, if we can prove that they do it too, then if they find a few mad black voters that can testify, we'll be covered. Oh, and make sure to circulate that top-secret memo about how any reports of REPUBLICAN fraud are to be shredded."

I do wonder how near to the truth this is. It wouldn't be so blatantly said, of course, but I think something like this may have happened. Conyers did ask for FBI investigation in Ohio, and I haven't heard that it came to anything. I hope people are digging into that. I can't see Conyers letting that die without saying anything.

4. FBI investigating Sproul & Ass. tearing up of 6000 Dem
registrations in NV in Nov. - George Knapp reported on it in Las Vegas...

side note: what's the problem with boarding housers voting? Never got this one exactly. Oh, that's right, they have the same address... whatever.

5. The FBI is looking into Republican voter fraud
Perhaps you missed this:

Investigation into Trashed Voter Registrations

(Oct. 13) -- Federal, state, and local officials are gathering information about allegations of voter registration fraud that were first raised Channel 8 Eyewitness News.

An employee of a private voter registration firm alleges that his bosses trashed registration forms filled out by Democratic voters because they only wanted to sign up Republican voters.

The allegations have set off a political firestorm stretching from Las Vegas to Washington D.C., and beyond.

As with everything else in this election year, it's now become a political football being tossed between the two parties, with charges and countercharges, but at its core, there still remains the matter of registration forms that were ripped up and tossed in the trash.

7. Yes, I believe its the same company talked about here:
"Nathan Sproul is the former head of the Arizona Republican Party and of the Arizona Christian Coalition. Sproul is connected with the Republican National Committee-funded voter registration organization, Voter Outreach, Inc., a group that used paid registrars to register voters in a number of states including Nevada, Oregon, Arizona and perhaps more, including Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maine and Missouri. (Others states pending, particularly swing states.) Sproul's organization also recruited registrars by fraudulently telling recruits that they would be working for America Votes, a legitimate nonpartisan GOTV operation!"

BUSH'S CHRISTMAS PARTY THIS YEAR...

Also spotted, petition gatherer to the stars Nathan Sproul. Bush, it seems, doesn't have much of a problem with the allegations in several states that Sproul's employees misrepresented themselves as nonpartisan during a Republican National Committee voter registration drive and were accused of tossing out registrations from Democrats."
