1. Heads up! If you try to call their Washington offices, mailboxes r full
I also tried to call Senator Levin of Michigan, his mailbox also full.
Did get through to Senator Stabenow's mailbox and left a message there.

Think I will go email some people!

3. Can't find a way to email Hastert. Emailed Frist
Hastert apparently only wants to hear from those in his district.
I note on the Speaker's home page he talks about the Boston Tea Party. Yeah, we're almost there, Dennis.

I did email Frist. I had to first select the area of my concern. There was nothing on there about elections. I also note he does not offer a choice of "civil rights." I do believe it's the first time I've seen that!

5. I couldn't get through, either
I asked the congressional switchboard operator to see if Bill Frist was reachable in "The Veterinary Medicine Department."

Bill Frist couldn't swing a cat without hitting an angry voter.

Somehow, we will get our country back. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

6. Kerry e-mailed 3 million people yesterday.
The phones will be jamed days if even a small percentage of them respond. I was able to get through on the fax lines just now so here's the numbers.

Bill Frist: 202-228-1264
Dennis Hastert: 202-225-2183

I am writing to encourage you to support the CBC challenge to electoral votes for president represented by states that deviated from the original exit polls in the 2004 election, specifically Ohio, Florida, and New Mexico. This is the most important issue facing our nation. If what happened in these states is not remedied, all other issues taken up by Congress this year are insignificant and of no consequence whatsoever! Social security, the war in Iraq, even issues surrounding our fighting men and women in the Middle East and abroad elsewhere - these are all inconsequential if we cannot be assured of a fair and impartial voting system. The collective conscious of America will be dulled toward everything else going on if this issue is not addressed and addressed appropriately. This issue is more important to American voters than the Tsunami disaster! If we are truly one nation under God, and if your party is truly a party that represents the Lord God of Heaven, it is extremely important that you acknowledge today that God does not need dishonest help in elections to be God. Please do the right thing.

(I also sent to my OK congressmen.)

8. Faxing is best. Here is a sample letter I took from Jesse Jackson's
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 09:46 AM by demo dutch
website and modified it.

Dear Mr. (Hastert or Frist)

On January 6th, I am asking you to allow Senators and Representatives of conscience to have a voice and hear the challenge of the electoral vote count. The misallocation of voting machines (especially in Ohio), the abuse of provisional balloting in numerous states, and the refusal and/or inability to conduct the recount in an open and auditable manner in Ohio, in Florida, and in so many other key states, should be cause enough to determine the certified electors should not be seated.

These congress members are standing up and are fighting for the voting rights of African-Americans, Latinos, and the youth voters who appear to have been targeted for disruption and disenfranchisement in the 2004 election. These congress members intend show the world what we mean when we talk about true democracy.

January 6th is the day we Americans must make a statement about our commitment to every American’s right to vote and have it be counted.
Sincerely,

xxx
