Ordinary People Are Making History!
It occurred to me that even if we don't get the election overturned, we're making history. Until the end of time, it will be reported that Shrub's ascent to the throne was suspect not once, but twice. Of course, that will be in history books. Don't expect to see it in MSM.

6. The Soviets rewrote history books, too. Then THEY were history.
And the books were rewritten, again.

Sooner or later, the truth comes out. It always does.

13. I agree.
Just yesterday, I kept hearing that argument that people shouldn't worry how we treat terrorists in prison and instead should remember the planes that hit the towers in 911.

But Iraqis DIDN'T ATTACK US. This is how they are re-writing it.

2. I think it's more than that
In just two months -- TWO MONTHS!! -- enough evidence has been gathered for Conyers' comitteei's 102 page report on Ohio alone, and there is more evidence coming in all the time as well as all the evidence from other states. The evidence is solid enough that Conyers himself -- an intelligent, savvy, knowledgable representative -- as well as other representatives and --according to semisolid rumor from Keith Olbermann's blog last night -- "at least 6" senators are going to rise to challenge the election result in Ohio. If at least one senator DOES rise with the representatives, then no matter if it is later voted down, Conyers' report is on the record. Even if investigation bythe Congress itself does not follow, more evidence will continued to be gathered. The internet and ordinary people have been instrumental in this.

This story is no longer invisible, no longer dismissable as the conspiracy theories of tinfoil hat kooks. The stories are ugly and the movies of vote suppression are going to bother people. This is news. I don't think Keith Olbermann is going to remain the only MSM reporter seriously examining this.

We've come a long way in just two months. Whatever happens today, and even if -- as appears likely --B* is inaugurated as B** on Jan 20, the process will continue. It has to, to save this country for the rule of law. And it will. It will take time, but it will.

5. I'm glad to know that. A lot of people are so disspirited

and we have to keep moving, no matter what happens. The alternative is to allow democracy to die in this country.

The good thing is, if independent people have done so much investigation in just 2 months, imagine what they can do with more time.

When we see people on DU or hear them elsewhere, moaning and saying there's no hope, we need to speak up. If we lie down and give up, then they will be right -- because then there WOULD be no hope. We need to encourage each other and function as a true community. The stakes are too high to do otherwise.

9. Start w/Keith's blog.
We're all hopeful that we'll get some challenges today to the electoral college votes because of fraud. It was all over the place on DU yesterday. We need a senator to go along with John Conyers. And we are hopeful!

15. Conyers' committee's report & strong rumors that Senators will join
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 09:46 AM by Nothing Without Hope
the representatives to challenge the election results in Ohio.

The Conyers Committee's status report is at this link, where you'll find the executive summary and a link for downloading a 3.22 mb pdf file with the entire 102-page report:
http://www.truthout.org/docs_05/010605Y.shtml
The title of this report: "Preserving Democracy: What Went Wrong in Ohio." It is said to be full of "damning evidence."

The semi-solid rumor is by MSNBC reporter Keith Olbermann, recorded in yesterday evening's entry in his blog at this site:
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240
He says that "at least" six senators will rise to join Conyers and the other representatives. This statement is as yet unconfirmed, as far as I can tell.

The Congressional vote certification process will take place starting at 1 PM Eastern Standard Time. Most likely, the Republican majority (plus many Democrats) will vote down the call for official investigation of the legitimacy of the vote. Nevertheless, this is a significant step. The Conyers report will go on record and the fraud story will no longer be dismissable as crackpot fantasy.

Bush will almost certainly be inaugurated on Jan 20. However, the investigations, though probably not done by Congress, will continue. There is more evidence coming in all the time. I don't think this scandal will stay buried as it is now.

10. What will be in the European and Asian history books is that...
...if we lose this battle for our democracy, we did not go quietly.

And if we win--which I think we will--what will be in the history books entitled "The Second American Revolution," published on 100% pure hemp paper in the US of A, like the "Declaration of Independence," is that we, the people, each one empowered and doing our part, sometimes with leaders but mostly without them, collectively rose up and took action to save our democracy, and to pass it along to our children, as others it had passed it to us. They spun dark illusions around us, and we did not believe them. We voted them out of office, and they would not go. They slaughtered the poorest among us in the oil wars, and we could not stop them. They dismantled all government benefit to the people, and bankrupted the nation, so that we could not undo the harm they did. They took away our right to vote, and that was it--the last straw--at long last, we woke up and acted to retrieve it, just in time, and by that act, the Second American Revolution began.

12. And the bloggers will get all the credit.
because while being called the lunatic fringe if it wasn't for them the exit polls would have never been picked up and it might have all sliped on by.

i like that this will go down in history this way.
