asterisks
Since the 2000 election forever attached an asterisk to 43, he was trying to do everything in his power to win re-election to erase that asterisk.

Should Ohio's electoral votes be tossed, even if he is elected by both houses, he will have TWO asterisks next to his number.

And they can never be erased.

3. This would be one HUGE ass asterisk
Tossing Ohio's 20 electoral votes puts the shrub down to 266 EV's total- he still beats Kerry's total but would be the first president with less than 270 EV's since..... Benjamin Harrison in 1888!

4. Ohhh! I like that fact! Let's remember to cram it down the media's
throats. I'm so sick of all the "mandate" facts they're throwing out.

" Bush received the most votes of any president in history.":puke:

8. Let's be realistic
Ohio's votes are not going to be tossed. All that will happen will be that the House and Senate will debate for two hours and then vote on the objection. The objection will fail because the votes are just not there to sustain it.

The only thing of interest will be how many Democrats vote to sustain the objection.

9. *.* has taken on a whole new meaning, btw...
I program on WinXP platforms and when I use * to denote (any combination of characters before or after "X") I get the willies.
