Boxer2008
My reaction to reading that she had actually signed the objection surprised me. I started crying. I am not even sure what that is all about, but I feel that there is a tiny chunk taken out of the wall of fraud that republicans have perpetrated on our democracy and which some democrats have participated in and/inabled because of their greed or spinelessness.
I have wondered for years if anyone understood what our democracy is about. I wondered if I was the ONLY child who grew up thinking our american system was uniquely precious and the very "thing" which gave us the freedom and the power that our founders felt when they dumped the tea in the harbor. Was I the only american child who got goose bumps from reading Johnny Tremain?

It drives me NUTS that a simple debate in the congress and the senate on the state of our voting rights is SO FREAKING DIFFICULT to obtain. Why do they not understand that it is important to do this even if the election is not overturned.

I am so sick of hearing "we can't do it, not worth the effort". God I hate that attitude anywhere in life. But I particularly hate it in my employees, which is what our representatives are whether they like it or not.

God Bless you Senator Boxer. If you run for President in 2008 you will have my support. If you do not run and you endorse someone else I will support that person and I will come to CA and work for your reelection in the senate. Basically, whatever it is that you need I will be there for you.

3. I think we could send her nice cards and flowers.. stuff like that
in the short term. She is definitely a woman of great resolve. Don't know how she could be elected pres. at this point. She seems well suited to being a Democratic Senator for now.

8. Its time we turned this country over to the women
Boxer for President Tubbs-Jones for VP in 2008.

I think if women had more power in this country we would be much less destructive and more constructive.

THANKS YOU Senator Boxer and Rep Tubbs Jones and of course John Conyers and the whole Congressional Black Caucus. I'm a white women but I'll tell you the CBC represents me better than any other group in Congress.

17. Desmond Tutu agrees with you
I don't think women are better than men. I just think our priorities are slightly different. Or perhaps it is our outlook on how to get something accomplished that is different. In any case think we have a right to screw things up as completely as men have. We couldn't do worse.

They understand it as well as we do. However, they are following an agenda that puts their personal greed interests ahead of the good of the Nation. But, how are they going to enjoy the fruits of their crimes, living in a country that has collapsed economically and spiritually?

16. I had the same reaction when I read this morning that she'd signed
...I started crying. And I don't want to hear that "what difference does it make?" crap. It MAKES A DIFFERENCE. In 2 years or in 4 years when the Democratic party expects me and you and all of us to get out there and call people and knock on their doors and try to convince them that Democrats care, I can now say - in truth - that some DO, and it's worth it, and the hours you stood in the rain and cold were WORTH IT and that party members stand with you in the rain, holding the umbrella over your head. If I can't say that to potential voters, then there's no point.

THAT'S why it's important.

21. Yes and also
Because we have to shed light on the machine fraud at some point. I believe we are never going to have trustworthy elections again until we have paper ballots. I know the politicians are behind the curve on this issue and probably won't even discuss the machines today (with any seriousness anyway) but at least this is the start.

18. A - FUCKIN - MEN!
I was driving down the road listening to AAR in my car and when they started reading Boxer's letter I just SCREAMED ALOUD and pumped my fist in the air. God the other drivers must have thought I was nuts. But I am SO FUCKING HAPPY today that one of our elected representatives has the SPINE to STAND UP and say, YES, There were problems in Ohio! Let's acknowledge it! Let's make it worth it!

Boxer 08!!!!!!!!!

22. I really surprised myself
I don't usually cry over stuff like this but the sense of relief was strong.

My sons are 22 and 24. On election day my oldest who learned a LOT working for ACT for a month, couldn't believe we weren't going to DO ANYTHING. It's wasn't like our disgusted cynical disbelief. He was all chirpy and "okay mom, so what happens next?". He fully expected the whole democratic party to do something about the fraud. I am sp glad that now he at least can see some democrats are speaking out.
