My wife heard a story on NPR this morning about what's going to happen today. She said they kept twisting it around and changing the issue from election fraud to sore loser.

12. CNN refuses to report the vote-and Kerry says problems won't change result |
|
Kerry is in Iraq - and Frist is in SE ASIA
and there will be 5 speeches of 5 minutes each rather than a 2 hour debate as the GOP tells C-Span not to bother coving - I wonder if C-Span will obey?

2. If you think they are bad now, just imagine what NPR is going |
|
to be like after four more years of Bush. I've long-since stopped giving them money and no longer listen. And to think we saved the sorry bastards when the Republicans were out to destroy them! :puke:

5. As a really long time supporter of NPR, I formally terminated |
|
my membership with them last year when they wouldn't report on how many Iraqi innocent civilians were being killed by *'s illegal war. I heard the news this morning on CBS newsradio, which does a much better job than does so called public radio!

8. There were 2 pieces, one really sucked and the other kinda sucked |
|
The one that really sucked was about the Boston vigil at Kerry's brownstone. No discussion of evidence, implied it was just a bunch of people who hadn't 'given up and faced reality' yet.
The other one included an interview with Conyers, and was mediocre. Still focused on the fact that this will not remove * from office, etc. etc.

13. It won't remove chimpy from office... |
|
I am so sick of hearing that. It is almost like the press needs to affirm that it is OK that they are reporting for a few seconds on this untouched to the msm story, because, "don't worry folks, it won't change the outcome..." it's like their disclaimer. Because if this was something that big that could change the outcome that would be NEWS and the rw would not like to have our media reporting news! They are trying to assure ** fans to not worry too much, no need to listen any further, because it won't change blah, blah, blah....

15. Write them immediately and let them know what |
|
this is all about -- I wrote them at 6:45 this morning after waking up to that report. I included the link to the 100 page report, a link to an AP report released yesterday which discussed the report and told them that this was about Democracy.
also suggested Tovia Smith read it and get to Washington today to see the "handful" of demonstrators who "won't let go" (No, I didn't say it that way... but did suggest that there was something happening there that was bigger... and mentioned the 800+ people in Columbus this past Monday!
We HAVE to respond to incomplete reports whenever it is possible. It isn't always, I know -- but especially NPR programs.

18. I used to listen to NPR |
|
but now I don't much. Only occasionally while driving to stave off boredom. Sometimes they have good segments, but it's more the problem of "sins of omission" with NPR. Yesterday it was all about Gonzales, no mention of electoral objection.
NPR caved in awhile back.

The Repugs were threatening to cut off funding if they didn't move farther to the right. NPR, instead of appealing to their listeners about censorship and the need to raise more money, acquiesced. They lost my support over a year ago.
If you are a supporter, quit now and send them a letter letting them know why.
