Frame this as: "It's not about winning - it's about the right to vote"
The Republicans would LOVE to portray us as "sore losers". We've got to make sure we 'frame' this right.

Our answer should be:

"It's not about winning - it's about the right to vote."

1. I've been waiting for the chance to use the phrase:
I'ts Democracy, Stupid.

Now seems a good time.

6. Reframe the suspicion...
I like to reframe the issue by pointing out that ANY group could be responsible for messin' with the election.

I say to repub-like people, "I don't think it was the Republicans, but what if it was Osama? or some foreign agency (Israel, Russia, Saudi Arabia, or FRANCE)? I'm concerned about that!"(Must be said with great sincerity) This seems to disarm people a bit. At least it makes them think, instead of react with hostility.

We need to all get on the same side of the issue somehow.

2. Kerry won't be President

Nor should we expect him to be. I agree that, not only is that how the argument should be framed, but that's just simply the way it is. That's all we want. Fair elections.

We may not like Bush or what he's doing over the next 4 years, but ultimately what we want is a fair shot in 2006 and beyond to make sure America's voice is heard loud and clear. Right now, there is no confidence in America's voting process from the "sore losers" and they have plenty of reasons to lack that confidence.

EDIT: The worst part about it is that we're doing this, not just for ourselves, but also for the freeper "sore winners," too.

4. My state Party chair said last night...
..."It won't change the outcome." I looked her straight in the eyes and said, "That doesn't matter. That DOESN'T matter."

I think she got it.

5. But that's the whole point!
Legalize voting so no one is disenfranchised and people can rest easy knowing their vote counts. Otherwise, what's the point?
