You'd think they might be somewhat interested that HISTORY IS ABOUT TO BE MADE - the validity of Ohio's slate of electors is to be challenged in Congress.

So many scandals, so little time... But I would think the right to vote trumps pretty much everything else.

6. The confirmation hearing for Gonzales is going on right now

The election challenge isn't until this afternoon at 1 pm. So many corrupt actions by this administration, so little time to cover them all.

On C-Span. Repugs are bending over and offering up their collectives arses for good ol' Alberto, the dems are a little harder on him but they are gonna confirm no matter how unfit for leadership this guy is. Wouldn't want to offend the Hispanic vote by demanding their reps be as qualified and as knowledgeable as others who might be considered. This isn't an issue about ethnic heritage but the repugs are making it that way. Gonzales is just goofy, lazy, ultra neocon who would take every civil liberty we have away - but all of that is OK as long as we don't offend the White House and his voters.

It is going to be a long two years for us - but if some of these dems don't step up to the plate 2006 is going to be here before they know it. Do your job or go home.

9. AG Gonzales is supposed to bury Votergate. Is why he was chosen.

Is going to be hard for W. to find someone who will trash his/her political career in order to cover for the crimes of Blackwell/Rove etc. Gonzales fits the bill perfectly. Hell, he is probably part of the election theft scandal so he is covering his own ass.

That means the Gonzales story is actually part of Votergate so watch the confirmation and pray they shoot him down.
