4. what is the purpose of this action?
on the one hand there are those who actually believe that this is somehow a major accomplishment and that Bush will not be inaugerated. boy will they be disappointed.

others seem to believe that this will be a great impetus for election reform, again. Frankly, I don't see any huge changes although I would like to see the paper trail be implemented nationwide.

so which is it?

9. ok, but will anyone be watching??
I mean. Voting issues can be addressed in regular legislative sessions. that is where voting reform will take place.

I don't think this is particularly productive but I think it is interesting in a procedural/parlimentary sense.

14. Can they - like Boxer said, they tried to pass a law last year
requiring paper trails and it was defeated. Nothing has been done since 2000 and (HAVA was not much help) the problems still exist.

Live and learn, watch and learn!

WE THE PEOPLE!

7. The purpose is true democracy.
We want every vote to count honestly, with no possibility of anyone being disenfranchised, or any hint of fraud.

16. Speak for yourself.
A paper trail means something to me. It's a start. The process is more important than the end result.

I applaud Boxer. She's going about this the right way and with dignity. Both points * has never earned for himself.

6. STJ also said it was unlikely there will be a reversal of election results
She did not say it was out of the realm of possibilities. This answer was in response to the federal lawsuit that has been filed in Ohio.

8. The election is over. This is not about John Kerry
This is a fight for all of us for representative government in future elections. We are not sore losers - it is the start of a fight for election reform.

13. This is just getting started
Fits in perfectly with my theory that Bush will be forced to leave office before 2006. Add this to all the other scandals he's been responsible for ... there will come a breaking point. I am so proud of these Congresspeople for taking this courageous stand in support of democracy.

17. Keep Visualising ... do it in colour, in 3D,
keep repeating it, pick your date in 2005, write it down and spread the word and it will happen so long as enough of us keep focussing on it, and follow through with what needs to be done to expose the shenanigans that put him where he is now.
