1. I totally agree with you about not having
hillary and I am quite fond of her myself but I don't think she stands a chance and I don't think we can afford to pick anyone but a certain winner.

5. Love Hillary.
Nope. But the RW pundits are pushing it like hell. Why? Because they think Hillary will be a good excuse to use when they try to steal it again in 2008.

...as if we need anymore.

I like Hillary a lot, but I think she has too much baggage.

7. I don't understand the
whole bi-polar thing here about Hillary.

The same people who want to stop accommodating Republicans hate Hillary because "she's too polarizing".

She's the most admired woman in America. While her negatives are high, so are her positives. Her, AND her husband, are adored by the Democratic base.

Yes, the far right hates her. Good. I want a candidate they hate.

40. It's not about accommodating Republicans
No one here is saying we give up the Democratic platform. It's about electability. Running a strong, outspoken woman---people who "vote the man, not the party" are not going to vote for such a woman. Women who make "nice-nice" are still the feminine ideal in this f*-up culture...IMO.

But she won't run if she knows she can't win, so I wouldn't worry about it.

BTW, Josh Marshall has thought for some time she wouldn't run, interestingly.

NOW is when we need them. those democratic supposed leaders.

they get a good salary to represent us. now REPRESENT OR GET OFF THE POT.

my man was dean. i worked hard for that man. we lost. ok. i supported kerry because in our system you take the best you can and i took it.

right now. i am dissapointed. i dont mind losing but im a fighter and this is the most important fight of our lives, im watching to see who joins us.

13. I vote YES
It's like Arianna Huffington said in her last column, we need someone who will be a BOLD OPPOSITION to what the Republicans are offering. No more trying to pander to the South and the religious psychos - being RepublicanLite is NOT going to chip away at that support! We need someone who can REAWAKEN America's deep liberal roots! We already tried moderate, centrist candidates. We can't let them design the playing field for us!

19. I agree with that to some extent, but I don't think Hillary is the woman
to do it; not because she's not capable and brilliant and will have the qualifications, but because of the baggage, unfortunately, and the perception sheeple still have of her as the anti-Mom, anti-Husband Feminazi and all that bullshit. It sucks but it's real.
It's almost the same way I feel about Kucinich: agree with his policies and principles almost totally, but I fear he doesn't stand a chance due to superficial meaningless things, but that will make the media once again marginalize him and it just won't happen.

17. 100% with you. I love her, would vote for her in a heartbeat, but I agree
we need a proven winner. And we need media that are not going to totally disenfranchise anyone who does not fit the usual mold, pretty much from the start.

Which means that women, gays, blacks, hispanics, asians, native americans, atheists, people with funny names, vegans, environmentalists, etc. need not apply.

No. No way. Too much baggage, too many people still despise her and the Big Dog; I don't know if she'll be able to run for another 12-16 years, if then. Even though SHE didn't have the affair(s), they hate her anyway. Fuckin' knee-jerk reactionary moralistic Pharisees.

Even more states will be then voting on electronic machines in 2008 with no paper trail, and this includes NY. Guess what state's gonna vote red in 2008? Afterwards the media will fall all over themselves pontificating on the continuing slide of the states to the right. Election fraud? That's just a consipiracy theory. Hoooie.

29. Shes in no position to run, nor could she win
The nation isnt ready yet for a woman president *sigh and in 08 we need someone strong, respected in business and world issues, someone who isnt afraid of putting on the "shit kickers" when it starts getting deep. We must think long and hard and look at the picture as a whole, seek out the pukes weaknesses and go after them.
But there will be a time when we are ready for a woman president, and who ever she is I hope she takes the world by the gonads and whips it into shape. :-)
Blessings

31. She's an important Senator and will be a strong voice for a long time
I don't think the Presidency should be the focus of all our hopes. Of even more concern to me than losing the Presidency in this past election is the fact that the Democratic Party is losing more and more power in both Houses of Congress. What good is having one liberal figure in the Presidency when the rest of the government shifts farther and farther to the right? We need Hillary to remain a very strong Senator and a leading voice for the progressive agenda. Of more importance to me is the election in 2006. We need to stop the Republican momentum now, in its tracks. For that, we need to get out our message and rally our base (which is even larger than the Republican base, but harder to motivate).
