Nader contesting NH? And not Florida? Qui prodest?
Randi just gave Nader a hand to help W. make sure Majority Report doesn't do it as well.

2. NH has a cheap and easy recount process.
The deadline for petitioning for a statewide recount is today. That's why Randi was appealing.

I don't see how this could help ** in the end. If there is a recount in NH that exposes some vast irregularities, it will be evidence for getting recounts done in 34 other states. This isn't a gamble for us, because if we do nothing, we still lose.

3. I just heard that the NH recount will cost tens of thousands
We may need an emergency fundraising effort to support that.

I've not heard anything further.

4. It isn't to say that Kerry didn't win NH
but that there was fraud there and it could point to similar problems elsewhere. We need to look for the pattern.

8. Maybe Nader can use the swiftboat Liars money
to pay for an audit in New Hampshire.

9. I did suggest to the campaign that NH would be the cheapest to check
and a quick way to find evidence of systemic skullduggery. The NH exit poll had us up by 11%! And yet they wouldn't call it for Kerry, he almost lost it, it stayed white all Tuesday night!!

If I had $10,000, I would do it.

Damn swindle! I fell for it myswelf until I remembered who won NH. nader's crusade is with the Dems. In 2000 he said: "let's toss a coin"

15. Florida?
With Jeb Bush and Glenda Hood in charge? Ohio? With Kenneth Blackwell in charge?
Surely you jest.

16. He is not on ballot in Ohio. he is in Florida. if it's about fraud,
he'll contest both. But somehow, he's only contesting Kerry.
remember, in 2000 he said: toss a coin.
I jest? Your argument is like W's: we go for WMD in a country where they don't exist rather than one that has it (N Korea)

17. How else do you people suggest that people get the recounts?
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 09:15 PM by wrate
Nader is the only one willing to get this done, and legally capable. Granted, all people would be behind JK if he were contesting the elections, but he isn't, so you have to take the risk, specially since everything now points to a sure Kerry loss.

18. Nader strategy brilliant
go to a non contested state to avoid accusations of partisanship interest then move to the rest. But it looks like Ohioans are taking things into their own hands.

21. That IS great news. Contesting the one state Kerry flipped - bad news
The issue is accountabilty, not just machines. Kinda like "war on terra" vs bringing the actual guilty to justice.
But Ohio has to be front and center. Florida too.

22. That's right, we have nothing to lose...
...so let's do absolutely NOTHING. Let's let our fears and our hatreds rule us. Let's be just like the freeps.
