As It Stands Now In The SENATE
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 02:59 PM by Pacifist Patriot
Pro-Democracy: (signed objection)

Boxer
Levin (didn't speak, but voted yes)

Playing It Too Safe: (i.e. sees a problem but wants to move on with legislation instead of a contest):

Stabenow
Kennedy
Wyden
Clinton (compared us to foreign democracies)
Reid (but damn he sounds reluctant)
Obama (ugh, "absolutely convinced Bush won")
Dodd?
Lautenberg (zinged Blackwell)
Harkin "a ten hour wait to vote is acid in the face of democracy" Recommending Constituentional amendment to guarantee right to vote.

Anti-Democracy: (wants the voters to go screw themselves)

DeWine "not a shred of evidence
Dayton "misquided"
Durbin
Voinovich "squandering our time"
Lott for calling for the vote (what the heck, I just don't like him)

What is it with Republicans quoting from newspapers?

5. Yes I know.
I included Harkin and Lautenberg because they presented additional evidence that Boxer did not address. They also did not say they thought Bush won Ohio like some of the others did.

10. I guess it depends on what your expectations were going into this...
some were obviously very high.

15. Obama didn't win the match-I give it to Dennis Kucinich
He said this:

"These actions deprived the voters of Ohio of the chance to CHANGE the outcome of this election."

Didn't contest outcome but kind of summed up the whole point of this show today.

11. Durbin played it saft
I would not put Durbin into the Anti-democracy section. He talked about voting irregularities.

from me to harkin, lautemberg - when they said they won't challenge. Barbara is the only senator I respect - the rest, no vote from me for dog catcher from now on.

17. She was, but I put her in the middle because
she closed weakly. Think of this as a spectrum rather than three discrete groups with identical contents.
