But that said, very few have the courage to risk their future, their chance at changing things. Most people don't question their boss. And that is the history of the world.

29. Each and every Democrat has prefaced their remarks with that admission |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 03:09 PM by Rhiannon12866
That's how Nancy Pelosi began her speech to the House. None of them are contesting the election. That's not what this is about. It's about the disenfranchisement of Americans, especially in Ohio, who were denied the right to vote because of long lines, not enough machines, broken machines, failure to receive absentee ballots, the list goes on. They are using this one chance to fix a broken system. But the Republicans, to a man, aren't listening, and are saying that the Democrats are refusing to concede.
I thought that Obama was quite eloquent in making his point. That 101-old-woman black went through so much to have the right to vote. But every American is entitled to that right just as much as she is.

None of them are saying Kerry won Ohio(I'm convinced Kerry DID win, but that is justa gut feeling, I haven't seen conclusive evidence myself, I just know Bush didn't win)-- cut him some slack he just got sworn in, he's a junior Senator... he is probably the future of the leadership of this country(or at least the good leadership) -- I'm really happy to see him stand up.
On the other hand, where is my Congressman... Rep Harold Ford -- If I don't see him stand and support his colleagues and I have a feeling I'm not going to see him -- I am going to make it my personal mission to see his ass kicked out in two years... the Ford's have gotten by with throwing mud in their constituents faces then being elected to public office on name alone for too long -- and if he thinks he's going to have a free ride on his fathers name and get a shot at Senate he's got another thing coming if I have anything to do with it... and I attend to tell him so in a letter I'm composing right now.
