6. I guess Kerry
was sort of trying to prepare us for this with his email? Still I had that tiny bit of hope... not really expecting it, but just hanging by a thread that it COULD still happen. *sigh*

14. it strengthens the Democratic party's points made in the debate
that they are trying to get voter reform (which Republicans do not want or care for) and not about overturning the 2004 elections.

that's what it was always about. that's what Kerry has always said. it wasn't any hidden meaning or being scared. it was about putting the focus on reform.

30. No, it weakens them
why did they not vote with Boxer? What did they have to lose? The R's have the majority, there was no question of outcome, so I ask again, what did they have to lose??????

My profound respect to Boxer and a POX on the rest of the pusillanimous cowards who voted that accepting a racist and income-based hierarchy of citizen rights is just fine with them.

Is there anyone who doubts that the outcry would have been different had those who were disenfranchised been White and of means? The squealing from the Senate floor would have been audible clear to the Oval office.

18. A bunch of senators SPOKE in favor of refusing to certify
They SPOKE against certifying the vote.

Yet they VOTED IN FAVOR of certifying the vote!

"I voted for it after I spoke against it."

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are right. A number of them said they would vote to certify but want to fix the voting system. who cares. We've been tricked and cheated again and democracy is dead here.

the objections from the Senators of CA & OH, and were proceeding with the vote for President & VP.

"Disposed of"...good lord.
