I hear dems in the house talking about the election, and the right to vote.

I hear the republicans babbling about terrorism, about Michael Moore, about football teams.

Are they debating the same issue?

69. yup.
They learned that 20-30 million people have been watching closely since 11/3. Now they KNOW 20-30 million more will find out between today and the next 3 months, and they'll KNOW to. By November the total number of citizens that KNOW should be over 120 million.

The Repug don't like their odds right now. And Delay spoke to this issue in his speech.

28. Republicans wanted Democrats to do this
but only if the dems went up ranting about how we won and Bush lost and other crap that we could never fully prove and that republicans can use like they did with the few clips from the wellstone memorial against us.

but instead what they got was democrats in reasonable passionate patriotic voices calling for voting reform so out system can be as fair as possible for all. that it's not about party but about america.

while the republicans on the other hand are the ones who come off as paranoid hateful assholes.

If ANY of them want to think that this puts the election fraud issue to bed, then they need to be shown some REAL patriotism by those of us who DEMAND fair elections.

read that they are saying, it sounds as though they are fighting for credibility. They keep saying things like "Bush won with the biggest number of votes ever and that the votes were counted AND RECOUNTED."
The last part is a LIE. All votes were NOT recounted, but they have to say SOMETHING to keep their supporters believing the lies they tell.

59. Not a major victory, maybe a small one.
Considering the monopolistic hijacking of American government by criminals and its disastrous consequences in the lives of people all over the world, I wouldn't call pissing off those criminals a major victory.

If a very large majority of Democrats in the Senate and House had voted to uphold the challenge, I would call that a victory of significant proportion. Did that happen?

I applaud all those here and elsewhere who are trying to influence improvement and those few Democrats with the balls to stand up and challenge the travesty, and I further detest those Democratic eunuchs in Congress who didn't even support the challenge with their vote.

Maybe I am too impatient because I have watched this disaster develop for a long time, unchecked by our Democratic leadership while they still had the power to make a difference, and I am too old to accept waiting for another generation or more, if ever, for it to be corrected from within. The criminals in charge are never going to allow real election reform to occur and the American electorate are not hurting enough yet to raise the kind of real hell necessary to force the change. If that time ever comes, you can be sure Bush's concentration camps will be full of real patriots such as many here on these boards.

fraud.

There is a case pending in Ohio today that could greatly benefit from the attention/legitimacy of the questioning of this Presidency.

It's about the big picture. Our democracy was not founded overnight. The civil rights movement did not happen in one day. What you saw today was the "beginning" of a larger movement.

Heck some Republicans called in CSPAN in support of the Democrats because of the manner in which we handled this ...

So I say, this is the beginning of change ... yes, victory!

64. We need someone on the inside to do an inside job.
We need to get the hard evidence, and that judge is trying to put the cabosh on it. There has to be at least one Democratic election official in Ohio who could provide some access to those machines. For a computer scientist type. To see if some residual incriminating evidence could be found.

Otherwise, as long as they control the access to the evidence, we can't get any of it. And we need to get it, so Bush will be facing impeachment in six months.

But that brings me to another worry. What happens when he is impeached? We get Cheney? Have to impeach him too. Then what?
