what a day in the history books!
it took a third party initiative to get this debate this far!

...it took a massive grassroots movement to make this happen!

... ... it took dedicated volunteers and activists from all over to mobilize!

it was because of you that we had a Senator take a stand! it was becasue of you this is now in the mainstream press. it was because of you that this issue is no longer marginalized!

you rock!

now onward with this movement. you have got the ball rolling... we need you still here to keep it moving until our election system is revamped!

congrats! you saw democracy in action today!

3. I agree. This just frames the issue and sets the stage.
It makes very clear who cares and who doesn't. The footage of Hastert furiously pounding pounding the gavel while the eloquent speaker from Texas wound down her speech is priceless, as were the voice that shouted out in the gallery "It did not!" when Voinovich said Ohio voted for Bush.

4. And this is not over
There are still several lawsuits and as soon as the ballots and poll book s are available, we are going to recount Ohio by hand. We still have the same people on our side and I suspect we gained some recognition today. Lets pull it together and get back to work. There was nothing lost today. Democracy is not dead; its still hanging on.

The republicans were forced to show they don't give a rats ass about voting and democracy...that's a plus. True, only one of our senators officially objected to the ohio electors, but there is no way it would've passed with the huge pub majority. Instead of turning this into a "Kerry won and you guys stole it" partisan issue, our Senators were able to keep election reform viable, and they still got to slam ken Blackwell, and make the pugs look bad. This was a very good day. Now pull it together guys.
