By contesting New Mexico, it would have shown that this is about the process and not the outcome. Changing the results in New Mexico wouldn't change the outcome of the election. Republicans will always fall back on that the objection was about changing the outcome because if the results in Ohio were changed then the outcome of the election would be changed.
Or they could have objected Florida, New Mexico, and Ohio!
