What's this feeling I have? Could it be a return of hope?
We are the minority on the Hill. We were brought into this session with the media telling us that our democratic representatives would have no voice. We were led to believe that even those in staff and lobby positions with democratic party ties would be cut loose. From all directions we were being beaten down and allowed to only view the most grim of scenarios.

This week changed all of that. We learned that Rep. Tom DeLay would not get off scott-free if he is indicted. We learned that we have individuals in both the House and the Senate who are brave enough to stand up and give voice to our concerns. We have also learned that we still have people on committees who are going to ask the tough questions of administration nominees.

We have a voice. They cannot shut us up... no matter how much they'd like to do so. There is beautiful sunlight streaming through my window and making small glitters on freshly fallen snow. I'm thankful for those small glitters of hope.

1. didn't the lack of support for Boxer in the vote shutter the blinds
on that window? it did for me.

It was pretty weak, although it was something.

5. The issue remained viable by not challenging Bush's victory
The pubs would've stalled and name calling wouldve gone into full force if they'd have challenged Bush's victory. I think this, while disappointing, was for the best.

6. I am filled with hope!
This is great. We went from being on the fringes to having a hearing where a Senator stood up for us! This is great!!
