the good and bad of today's historic events.

I was so happy to hear that a senator would stand with Conyers and the others to contest the Ohio vote count. It was a great success to get on the record that there were questions about the fairness of the Ohio election.
But, without some democratic unity with a "protest vote" all those folks out there that were unaware of the voting irregularities (now brought to light) will not see the seriousness of the situation.
If our own reps didn't feel it was worth a "protest vote", why should the average American. Now Boxer looks a bit like some wacko CA. liberal.
So we made some progress today, that's great. But, the dems (other than Boxer) still look a bit like pansies covering their asses rather than strong leaders. And that I'm sorry to say, is the greatest threat to the survival of the democratic party.
edited to add: Which is why it is Imperative that we support Boxer and All others that did give a "protest vote". We need to demonstrate what a powerful political tool standing up for us can be.
