Republicans WANTED Democrats To Do This Today |
|
A Repost of a comment by JI7:
Republicans wanted Democrats to do this today
but only if the dems went up ranting about how we won and Bush lost and other crap that we could never fully prove and that republicans can use like they did with the few clips from the wellstone memorial against us.
but instead what they got was democrats in reasonable passionate patriotic voices calling for voting reform so out system can be as fair as possible for all. that it's not about party but about america.
while the republicans on the other hand are the ones who come off as paranoid hateful assholes.

It will take them a few weeks to figure out that this wasn't about sour grapes and it was about democracy (something they don't quite understand yet).

the repugs came back at them with both barrels and it looked really silly because they were obviously expecting dems to say Bush was illegitimate, etc...but instead the repugs looked like they were coming out against fair voting practices and racial, economic equality for voters. heh heh heh heh

13. No, Repubs really wanted Dems to not waste time contesting the vote. |
|
It comes down to the fact that there was election fraud, there is mountains of evidence supporting the allegations, and either you vote according to that evidence (and not political expediency) or not.
Remember that many Republicans pretended to champion electoral reform in both the Bush vs. Gore decision and in the passage of HAVA I. It all ended up making our election process even more unaccountable, and all of the Dem political strategizing just ended up helping that happen.
The Dems need to stop being politically expedient and start fighting in a coordinated manner. And Dem supporters need to stop rationalizing Dem political expediency.

because the repuke leadership weren't laughing. They were angry and pissed. Pissed that a huge discussion went on about the election fraud that has consumed our country. The last thing they want if for our message to get out. This shows in how the MSM works hand in glove with this administration. I know today set the stage for major arm twisting to get the repukes to start hearings and discussion. When that starts we are almost at the finish line and they in turn are finished!

Solid analysis! I'm just waiting for Kerry to drop the other shoe. I'm betting that he hatches his plan just as soon as he's stateside again.

23. It's like the argument I use with folks |

When I tell them I'm vegan and they rail on me about... "So what I hear you saying is you have a problem with me being compassionate to all living beings." You really can't come off sounding good with a response to that question (IMO)
The Repugs did the same thing today. The Dems got up and said even if 1 person is disenfranchised that is one too many and something needs to be done. The response, we don't want true democracy. They couldn't say anything that made them look good unless that too objected.
