Jesse Jackson, Jr connects with MLK's legacy... Federal Vote Protection |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 05:00 PM by FreepFryer
Jesse Jackson, Jr.'s most ardent point was that without equal protection under Federal law, we continue to abuse and discriminate against voters of color and those less advantaged (who tend overwhelmingly to vote Democratic).
Which was Martin Luther King, Jr's central point on the issue as well:
"We must have our freedom now. We must have the right to vote. We must have equal protection of the law." — 1965, after march on Alabama state capital
It's time for that Federal protection.
