Interesting call to CSpan from a Republican
He said they heard Hillary Clinton give a speech supporting the objection to certifying Ohio's votes - but then he noticed that she voted AGAINST the objection. That didn't make any sense to him.

The guy has a point. No matter what a voter feels about the issues, a representative who speechifies one way and then votes another way has got to be a big turnoff.

2. And THAT is what all the pundits will focus on, how they didn't
even believe it was a problem enough to vote for it, they just wanted their moment in the sun.

4. It's simple.
Well not really, but there is a simple explanation. Senators who spoke in "support" were not really talking about objecting to Ohio's slate of electors. They were supporting election reform. Therefore, they were not contesting the certification, just acknowledging that there are systemic problems that need to be addressed. Fine line, I agree, but that's probably the simplest explanation for some pretty fancy political dancing going on right now.

6. Bingo! And because of these actions, today is the Day the Democratic Party
died as far as I am concerned, along with Democracy in America. I was so excited about Clinton and others speeches, yet then where were they to vote? They either weren't present or voted "nay"...They sealed our fates and the Democratic Parties fate.

I am going to our civic center in about 1 hour where I plan to officially unregister as a Democrat and register as a Green Party Member. I choose to do it on this day and send a copy of it to the DNC along with receipts of my $10K donation and reminders of what I meant to them. I will then inform them that the only Dems that will ever get my vote are Dems that supported this and voted "yea" - Guess that means Barbara Boxer for me.....

I am going to work hard with Progressives and Green Party members to find a challenger to Feinsteins seat in the Senate and I will do all can to help true "Progressives for Democracy"....

Hilary Clinton would have to do a lot over the next 4 years to ever get $$$ from me ever again...And I gave and attended two of her visits here to the Bay Area for Fundraisers in 2004...no more....

This Democratic Checkbook is closed for Democrats until they behave like Democrats....shame on them....

7. They did the EXACT same thing
with the Iraq Resolution gave 5 minute speeches that you thought for sure they would vote against it and the turned around a supported it. I'll never forget that night - so many of them broke my heart. Didn't break my heart today because I expected this outcome.

11. I think it'[s time to send a strong clear message to the democratic party
What the hell is wrong with this party? I can tell you right now. If we turned the tables on the republicans every single one of them would have voted yay. There would have been not one to turn their back on the other. They are loyal.

Now for the dems. When one of them raise their voice just a handful raise their voice with them. And even those in the handful turn their backs and vote differently than they proposed. So, what is the lesson here?

Perhaps we should start acting like real dems. Stand up and be counted together. This is shameful that only one senator voted and 31 reps voted yay. It should have been all of them. For those who have decided to turn their backs on our democracy and the party I say we write them and let them know, we will be looking for their replacement. I say we find their replacement and put them up on the ballot. It's time to play dirty. It's time to go back to the early nineties and declare war on the republicans together. Enough of the whining about who did what. Instead of whining mark it in your tally book. Come election day, we will replace them.
