look- the "enemy" is everywhere. I have my doubts about almost everyone- repug & democrat alike.
True patriots- who chose to fight instead of doing what was EASY- have gained my respect.
Others... like Kerry have lost me forever.
I hope he has a few more good years in the Senate & that he has a happy life etc. But I will never ever ever vote for him again. I will pick up the torch and work my ass off for the next Dem candidate who comes up in 2008. But I am also going to work hard to make sure Kerry isnt the Dem nominee. I'm just being honest about that.
I think Kerry really did turn out to be very self serving. He's not an evil man, just one who didn't deliver all that he promised.
I don't think all democrats are evil & I think saying that is a little harsh. I felt that way a few weeks ago but I had to sit back and re-evaluate. You know what they say... you can't burn the whole orchard because of one bad apple

This is the neoconservative/Straussian mentality. It's UGLY. It discourages the "evil" supposedly inherent in liberal thinking, which encourages individuality and freedom. NO "GROUP THINK" FOR ME. NEVER.

We went into the Election with a policy of "Anybody But Bush". And because of it we got, in my personal opinion, about the weakest possible Presidential Ticket I could have possibly imagined.
Historically incumbents are very hard to vote out of office. And Iraq should have played a key roll in Its downfall.
But what happened? We lost How Many Seats in the Senate and the House? Where are the protesters for THOSE campaigns?
Anybody who says that the election was fixed should be made to look at the "Crying Baby Democratic Seal" I get every time that gets in the news.
I was a Poll Watcher, remember? My precinct was clean. And so was every other precinct in my county.
We are not acting like a Team. The Republicans are working as a Team. More of the Country voted for Republicans than they did for us Democrats. And until we get our Collective Act together we are going to lose more seats in the Senate and the House.
By the way: Has anybody but me noticed the election results in Vermont and Puerto Rico?
Same on your crying not to notice.

11. I believe we can turn this trait around. They have people ordering them.. |
|
we have very little guidance as a group. There has to be some sort of unified beacon. Right now we have people scampering in fear and confusion most of the time. One thought here another there. There needs to be a source (Not sure Will always wants to do it ; ) ) of info. Unified organization. We cannot stand without it. Sorry about my mini rant, but we are running in circles daily. Makes one tired.

17. But, you see, their "solidarity" rests on this one thought: |

"The ends justify the means". They move as a group with a single evil purpose.
Democratics perhaps could move as a group with fairness and morality as a purpose.

One Republican caller to CSpan expressed puzzlement over why Hillary would have made a speech IN FAVOR of objecting to the Ohio vote - and then voted AGAINST it.
Republicans may be wrong on many issues, but they at least are CONSISTENTLY wrong. Democrats may have been right on this issue, but they weren't CONSISTENT - their votes didn't match their speeches.
Think of how it looks to a person who is unsure about the issue of vote fraud - how are they going to see it? A Dem Senator makes a speech saying one thing, and then votes another way. Why would this viewer want to support this kind of Senator?
People don't have time to be informed about all the issues. They make snap decisions based on lots of other factors. One BIG factor is CONSISTENCY. They're not going to trust someone who speechifies one way, and votes another way - that's gonna turn them off right there, before they even take the time to look at the issue itself.
This, by the way, is probably why Rove et al dreamed up the strategy of calling Dems flipfloppers.

They ALL (except the most fantastic, wonderful, gutsy lady, Barbara Boxer and 31 Congressman/women) need to be deluged with emails. They need to be told that they have let us down, AGAIN. I'm sick of their crap. They don't care about this country. They don't care about the election FRAUD. Did you hear the speeches?? ALL of them said they KNEW the chimp won the election. BULLSHIT! He did NOT win. He STOLE it, AGAIN! The only thing they care about is THEMSELVES. Durbin and Obama will get emails from me. I've had it with their party. Damn wimpy ass weasley spineless balless gutless pieces of worthless shit. :grr: :nuke: :grr: :nuke: They all should be ashamed of themselves. If this makes me a tu-tu, so be it.

I'm proud of our Senators who stood with Boxer. I'm amazed at Senator Boxer's courage in standing alone at the final vote.
We lost a great opportunity to stand united. Not in lockstep, but arm in arm, to seek redress for the disenfranchised, to pursue the investigation of precisely what went wrong in Ohio, and correct it.

I am proud of Ms Boxer, but she got sandbagged by her collegues. Where were the other 5-6 who would stand with her.
I'll bet even some of the dems encouraged her, and then backed out. I wonder if the Dems aren't wanting her to be replaced in 6 years.

If the situation were reversed, you KNOW the Repubs would have orchestrated their votes like a finely choreographed ballet. They would have locked arms and danced in step like so many cygnets.
The free expression we so value also leaves us weak in these situations. It's a hard balance to maintain.
I think as a party we have a lot of work to do in re-examining and re-articulating what it is we believe and are willing to stand for.
I was heartened however, by a press conference by the black caucus -- they do seem committed to coming up with an agenda and working together to see it done. Would be good!

I agree. Actions speak louder than words. What we saw was an almost complete contradiction and I am simply amazed that there are so many people that think today was progress.
Wow. After spending almost 2 months around here and thinking I knew whose side most were on...now I'm not so sure what in the hell to think.

I'm new here... well not really, having been a lurker for several weeks. But I joined you all and became real involved in emailing, faxing, and calling reps and senators over the last week or so, and am somewhat happy with our efforts.
Now is the time for another longer term tactic. I'm emailing all the talk radio shows in my area and asking that they put the Ed Schultz show on. If we bombard them with these requests, perhaps they will do it (he's got great ratings after all). We can win twice, once having him on the air, twice if he replaces one of the righty idiots.
After they put Ed on we can request Randi!
