Democratic Party Back Watch
I pledge to have the backs of our Democrats in Congress.

I further pledge to work for Dems at all levels of government from local aldermen all the way up to the top in order to rebuild our country's system of checks and balances. One side having too much power makes for flabby, flatulent government.

In addition I will not stab any Dem in the back, call for their heads or any other part of their person. This does not preclude criticism. But I will not backbite, whine or otherwise Monday Morning Quarterback.

Who will join me?

4. Is Joe a Dem?
Then it includes JoeMentum.

But remember, I didn't say I wouldn't have criticism. I just won't be calling for his Convservative head on a platter.

Pressure on the Conservative Dems to do what is right is not precluded by my pledge.

But I hear that Tom DeLay did good things for the Native Americans, and now they have one less voice fighting for them. He is in part a symbol for why I say what I say. Hearing that, I was retroactively sorry to see him go.

Does that clarify?

...don't you mean Daschle?

I'm in with you!

Disagreeing and challenging is one thing--calling people filthy names when they don't do exactly you want when you want it is another thing entirely. I save my filthy name-calling for the real enemy, thanks.

14. I presume that you meant Daschle.
And, yes, he worked very hard for Native American causes - he was one of the very few who did so.

Don't worry, we're a silent majority amongst a few flailers.

I wish them calmness and a renewed sense of unity.

11. No Monday Morning Quarterback = never learning from mistakes
I pledge to hold my elected officials, and those running for my party, to a standard I personally set. I reserve the right to comment on and criticize anything I see wrong. I refuse to blindly follow AMYONE.

Criticize, pressure yes. Calling for their heads, no. Replacing them with another Dem? Yes. A Green, yes. Replacing them inadvertently with a Socially Conservative Republican? No, no and again, no.

20. Hmm, that would be a dilema if he hadn't retired
No, I don't think we have to include Zig Zag in our pledge. I'm mostly concerned with elected Democrats.

Might be slightly hypocritical considering what I'm trying to get across, but hearing he will be giving an award to the Smear vets just about seals the deal for me. I hearby declare him Benedict Arnold.

I break with thee
I break with thee
I break with thee.

spin, spin, spin.

Ptwi!

There, he's no longer a Democrat.

Only constructive criticism. :)

I'm very proud of our Dems in Congress today! They stood up for us, and for all of America. I hope the right wingers are ashamed of themselves, because they were seen as wrong today.

22. As a lifelong Democrat, I will face my death as one-this much I can pledge
I am very frustrated. It is my greatest wish that those we elect do us proudly. I will get angry when they do not. And vocalize my anger readily. "Back stab"? Never.

I have in the past, am currently and will continue to support Democrats.

I am watching Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones before the House and am beginning to weep....

23. I'll Join... But I'm Not Real
Happy with Bill Nelson right now. Sorry if I keep repeating this, but lately he's just not standing up for the Democrats of Florida. I'm afraid I can't vote for him again. But I'll stick with you. I've been a Democrat FOREVER and can't see how going "Green", "Independent" or "Libertarian" will help OUR COUNTRY very much.

And Leiberman just doesn't do it for me much either. But then, I don't have to worry about him. Just wish more of our Representatives would step up to the plate and start CHARGING!!!!

We need LEADERS with some "shit in their necks!" A phrase coined by my husband????

Allowing Dems to lose more seats to Repubs is not.

Boot Nelson outta there if you need to. This isn't about status quo. This is about hanging together as a party.

Oh, how I'm going to miss Bob Graham. He wasn't very liberal, but I really really loved him.
