One battle won, a war to go
For me, the election contest was all about shedding light were there was none : bringing the ugly disenfranchisement in the news, where it hasn't been at all.

Today, I see at CNN :
"This is my opening shot to be able to focus the light of truth on these terrible problems in the electoral system," Boxer told the joint press conference with Tubbs Jones."

I think this means a first and very important step.

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome is lunacy.

This time, not all was the same as in 2000. A senator stood up. The debate was held. F911 1/2 will not have the same opening.

Kai Zen.

I just hope the (understandable) negativity / depression of people hoping for more (democrats to act as a team for one thing) does not MAKE this into a pyrrhic victory.

Conyers, Boxer et al just slammed a wedge of hope under the boulder.

Let's cover their back on the uphill battle.

I have no idea to what extent the contest was covered on the cable channels - first job is to let everyone know what happened and why.

1. Excellent post
I too am standing behind our elected officials. This was really putting their necks on the line, and the framing of the issue is just as important. Keep this about disenfranchisement, because if that becomes one of Democrats "moral values" then we are in good shape.

2. Well just consider Boxer's words
Imagine, we have a senator who just put her neck on the line. She jumped into the water.

Now that she's all wet, she can and will make some splashes.

Calling a Senator's splashing "conspiracy theorist bloggers" will be that much harder.

She has a voice. She's our voice.

Maybe time to build an echo chamber.

Thanks for your kind reply!

:hi:
