I just listened to Nancy Pelosi on CSPAN |
|
I have to say that I really think she gave a classy speech. I'm proud to have her as minority leader.

1. ABSOLUTELY. Yesterday's Pelosi-bash was entirely unwarranted, imho. |

We need more spines. On edit, she is great and I respect her.

It is time we broke into the secret stash of spines and started passing them out. Maybe we organize our own coast to coast "Backbone-a-thon" to prepare ourselves for the work that must be done!

Impressive how many Repubs are using the phrase "wild-eyed conspiracy theories." What are the odds?

Proud of what? Did she vote for the resolution? I don't see her on the list. And no Senator voted with Boxer - for all the nicey-nice words and that glowing smile from superstar Obama. All a soothing show so we can all go back to sleep....zzzzzz

9. No, but then again, passing the resolution |
|
wasn't the goal. If they wanted to pass it, they could have reigned in the members of both parties, but that wasn't the purpose. They brought up relevant issues and used today as a platform to speak about it. Like she said "If there were any other platform to speak from, we would. But right now, this is all we have." This will probably factor into a big staple of the Democratic party from now on. Count every vote. Do you want to be disenfranchised? Then vote Republican. It's a message that could play well in midterms.

10. she did give a great speech. I think the fact that the Repugs are |
|
so pissed off, that we accomplished the beginning of the reform effort. The Repugs kept trying to make this all about overturning the vote, and any mentally healthy human could tell it was NOT about overturning the vote.
