1. another lost cause?
"Both the request and the check have to be filed with the Secretary of State's Office by 5 p.m. yesterday by law.

Assistant Attorney General Orville "Bud" Fitch said "At this point, we don't consider this a valid request."

2. Very Good for Us - It Will Open the "Whole Can of Worms"
If Nader forces a recount in NH, it can only help us. First off, he's not going to win. He will most likely end up with LESS votes after the recount.

But IF the recount shows that too many votes went to Bush, it will cast doubt on ALL the states election counts...like Ohio and Florida's counts.

If Nader finds ANYTHING at all, the MEDIA will go on a VOTER FRAUD FEEDING FRENZY, and I cannot conceive of anything better than that.

4. that's misleading
Chapter 660 says you have to pay the fee, it does not say that the fee has to accompany the request.

660:1 Application. Any candidate for whom a vote was cast for any office at a state general election may apply for a recount. The application shall be made in writing to the secretary of state and shall be submitted no later than the Friday following the election. Each candidate requesting a recount shall pay the secretary of state fees as provided in RSA 660:2.
