Fear won this election...and fear lost it |
|
The election is now officially behind us. We can move forward. We did have a good day--not the day we had all hoped for, but a good day nonetheless. Fear won this election...Some voters feared gay marriages and abortions....Some members in Congress feared losing political gains by standing against the machinations of the Bush regime. We lost this election even though we fear global warming, a fascist government in our country, loss of financial aid for eligible students, pillaging of the earth, no health insurance, the war in Iraq, etc et al. I am proud to be a part here of this community of people in DU--I pale in comparison to the mindpower here.I hope that one day what I say may make a difference to some as the words of others here have made a difference to me. We made a difference and were a small part of history today. We will make a difference and will hopefully be a larger part of history tomorrow. Perhaps all of the differences we make in the near future will add up to victory in the coming years. Peace to all.

2. Well, they "won" indeed if they created reality for you |
|
And you have made the choice of believing in what they tell you.
Yes, you're right, "they won."
Regards.

I don't believe a word they say. I don't buy the message they sent. And even though Congress told me differently--I don't feel they won the election. But at this particular moment in time--what I feel or think doesn't alter what is now our reality. All we can do is accept the decision, seek the truth, and hope for change.
Peace.

7. If you act and "do not accept" illegal decisions, things will change |

You tell me how I can change the decision today and I will do it. I wrote letters. I sent emails. I made telephone calls. I talked on different forums with people. I spoke with people who voted for shrub about what they really voted for and think even though I didn't change votes, I may have made them think. I prayed. I worried. I cried. The decision was made today and at this point in time, it cannot be changed by anything we can do here. We move to another phase tomorrow. While I had hoped that today would come and Kerry would ride us piggyback into the sunset--it didn't happen. We are stuck with Bush, at least in the interim. We have to accept that or we will spend valuable resource time eating ourselves alive for something we cannot change. We have to seek the truth--and we have to get others to believe in that truth. Then the wheels of justice will come for us.

Declare the ilegitimacy of this government IN A PUBLIC VENUE (of your choice),use the Ukraine's standards and marginalize ANY Democratic "leader" that tells you is "good" to "cooperate" with "*".

Very few, if any, thought the vote in Ohio would be overturned.
Maybe Horse was given a triple whiskey.

8. There is no certainty that fear won this election for W |
|
In fact, it looks like W may not have won at all.
How would we know?
What we DO know is: elections must be transparent and verifiable.

18. I live in a once blue, now red state |
|
and I agree completely with this statement. I know people who strongly support the Shrub (why, I don't know), but I saw a very contintious opposition in my red state, as well. Wait until they start trying to take away Social Security. Maybe then the sheeple will wake up and ask themselves, "Who voted for this idiot? How did he get back into office?"
