My good feeling turned into a great feeling |
|
Today my faith in democracy returned. The dems didn't roll over and play dead as they did in 2000.
Today, we fought back. We made history contesting the election for the first time in over 100 years.
I give the current "regime" no more than 2 years. The shit will hit the fan my friends, and we made it happen. BE SO happy.

I find that poking fun at my self-pity can be a darn good way of getting rid of it.
"But I was really enjoying feeling sorry for myself! I prefer to be miserable!"
Eh. Didn't work so well that time.

The monkey can cause a lot of destruction in 2 years. Yes, we did fight back today, but it's a damn shame that only one person stood up to fight. And Yeh, it was a WOMAN!

And if you're talking about the formal objection, it was TWO women. But maybe you didn't notice the first one because her face is black.

26. Actually, I'm insulted at that comment, Class Warrior |
|
I wasn't trying to imply that Ms Boxer was the ONLY person involved in this objection. Ms. Tubbs-Jones was the "founder" of this objection if I'm correct and I DID notice her. Ms. Boxer was the only SENATOR that had the nerve to stand up and fight. A lot of others had something to say, but Ms. Boxer and Ms. Tubbs-Jones both, voted yes! And ask my family, I'm the least prejudice person they know.

They can bluster all they want, but the joint resolution settled nothing.
+ They still didn't win....and the evidence isn't going to stop coming because the Republicans re-proclaimed Dimson the pResident. + Iraq ain't getting better as long as Bush is calling the shots. + The budget will still hemorage until they .....raise taxes....... + There are still unanswered questions about 9/11, anthrax, Plame, DeLay, and other bombshells that probably haven't been uncovered...yet. + The stolen election will motivate the majority that got shafted for the 2nd time to continue to oppose this fraudulent administration.
Republicans have hit their highwater mark. There's nowhere to go but down from here.

We want to thank them for their courage in defense of American Democracy. I like the idea of pledging for humanitarian relief as well, but I would advocate the Congo or a general fund rather than Tsunami, since the organizations have gotten overwhelming amounts for that fund. We can do both. The flowers are something we want to do tomorrow. They will be delivered to the Hill and show the other congresspeople that Americans thank these patriotic women for their courage.

We have much work left to do and we will move forward. Congrats to all of you and to the Reps. and Sens. who stood for what is right. There will be plenty more to come. Watergate took years.
Patience and a continuing desire to find the facts and fight for democracy -- that's what we're gonna need to make it happen. So, gear up for battle.

Man, I'm not sure how much more geared up we can be except to get our Orange Tent and move into Lafayette park.
Did you hear the older guy historian today on C-SPAN say, "Well you didn't see the Ukraine folk wait around for some congressional noodling..." Or something like that.
Thanks for keeping it upbeat. Usually I do too.
Cheers.

It's been a real hard day and I agree we are one step closer but it still is achingly slow. Guess I'm mourning a bit for our democracy.
All I can think about is Boxer sitting there after her objection, surrounded by allies, tiny, alone. It reminded me of being a strong woman in one of the many Good Old Boy Corporations. God, they made life hell! I can only imagine the snide remarks and asides they gave her today.
NOW, That woman deserves the Congressional Medal of Freedom!
Thanks for perking me up and helping me keep my eyes on the prize.
"When in doubt, the gals get it done." Don't know who said it but I can guess it wasn't a man.
Cheers!
