Time for LTTEs & calls to Cspan supporting protest (samples)
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 12:57 AM by lostnfound
You can be sure the airwaves and LTTE inbox will be full of whining Republicans calling them conspiracy theorists, partisans, etc.

Time to preempt or at least balance that with our own LTTEs.

What shall we say?

How about:

The Democrats were right to call attention to the fact that Republicans intentionally disenfranchised tens of thousands of citizens. The country will never heal unless the legitimate concerns of voters who distrust unverifiable black boxes and partisan election officials are addressed. Anyone who doesn't care about election integrity isn't truly an American.

or

Four years ago, George Bush got into office with the help of 5 men on the Supreme Court. His buddies in congress made this election even worse by refusing to pass legislation requiring auditable, verifiable voting systems nationwide. By jeopardizing the perceived legitimacy of the election process, they have led the country down a path of bitterness and distrust. The Republicans should respect the legitimate concerns expressed by the Democrats on Thursday, and commit to enacting meaningful election reform now.

or

Those who say that Democrats contesting the Ohio electoral votes were simply partisan radicals calling attention to themselves are disingenuous. Our election systems are insecure, our election officials are deeply partisan, and vote suppression was widespread. To be graceful in defeat is admirable, but to be graceful victims of fraud is to pass the problem on to the next generation. We owe it to our children to ensure that our broken election system is fixed now.

1. I was just about to post asking the same thing. I will send
something like this tomorrow.

These are dark and troubling times. No one can read the long list of cheats identified by Congressman Conyers and honestly argue that the fiasco in Ohio was fair. In America, when you have proof that an election was unfair, you contest the vote. That's just the right thing to do. Congressman Conyers and Senator Boxer are modern patriots. (include other reps) We owe them a deep debt of gratitude for standing up and shedding light on the botched vote in Ohio. The crimes in Ohio have gone largely unreported by the main stream media. Conyers, Boxer yadda yadda give us hope that that the republic can be saved and democracy restored, but the fight is just beginning. Please take a stand and demand fair elections. There can be no legitimacy for any party until we restore our electoral system. Visit www.nov3.us/billofrights.php.
