Who was the "Lone Protestor" in the Gallery? |
|
I saw one bright orange scarf in the Gallery today about four rows behind where Rev. Jackson was sitting the first time he came to the Gallery. When Pukes were speaking, the "Lone Protestor" had the scarf wrapped around his head covering his ears and eyes and when Dems spoke he would hold it out straight from each side. About half way into the debates, the Capitol Hill police sent someone to sit next to him to watch over him and make sure that he didn't cause any "trouble" I guess. He stayed the whole time and then I saw him again outside the Capitol South metro station after the debate.
Was that you WilliamPitt?
P.S. I wore my "chad tie" from Florida as promised.

7. on the floor but not in the gallery. cops were EVERYWHERE |
|
In fact, either Fritakis or somebody who looks just like Fritakis' picture got sent out within seconds of sitting down when Rev. Jackson came in the second time. It looked like they were motioning that they didn't want him to have a folder of papers with him. But it was too far away to hear what was being said.

asking what you were doing there. Were you on official business, for instance? Observing, reporting, debating?

20. I talked to someone who was sitting with the "You're a liar" person. |
|
Apparently she yelled this to one of the Republican speakers (I don't remember which one) as she was exiting the gallery. The gavel hit the desk before she made the door and they took her to jail. They said she would be there overnight due to being from out of state. The last I heard was that she was sitting in jail as defiant and pleased as ever.
I was also told that people were not being allowed to enter the gallery with any type of protest or orange items. Even orange ribbons around fingers had to be removed.

Even though some of the dem senators were saying some right things, the whole thing was so tame and it felt so awful. I kept envisioning Rove and Bush chuckling to themselves, and poor Cheney having to restrain himself from laughing out loud because of the cameras. I was hoping the strain of playacting would prove too much for him.
When I heard that lady yell and then they stopped and told the guards to remove anyone who wasn't being orderly (or what ever they said), I felt much better.
There is a small group of people pushing this through and behind them some groveling repukes who hope to ascend the ladder, and behind them some sniveling fearful complicit dems going along for the ride. Then come the poor brainwashed masses who listen to the puke press and just don't know.
That lady who yelled represents more people than those who are stealing our country. I hope someone is watching over her. If any DUers are in DC, could you please make sure she's okay.

He'd let people get up to speak and then stop them right away. Did this TWICE.
Once with Nadler. And another time with _____? (Can't remember).
What a RUDE POS he is.

25. What was going on (House, I think) |
|
when he kept banging the gavel and saying, "Please take your conversations off the floor."? He did it MANY times, and always when a Dem was speaking (and usually at a moment when something great was being said).
I got the notion that the Repubs were being rude? Talking during Dem speakers?
