As long as we're applauding good guys,has anyone noticed Filner

He walked out with the black caucus in 2001. Today, he voted "aye." He's a great guy from San Diego. But I never hear him spoken about.

1. Did Filner speak today? He is a fantastic legislator.

Progressive and very attuned to his constituents. He was willing to meet with a group of writers even though most of us weren't even in his district, and he was willing to try and help us in a dispute with our local newspaper. I have tremendous respect for him.

2. He has knocked on my front door twice, once when he was running

for city council here in San Diego, another time when he was first running for Congress. He seems totally genuine and not like a typical politician
