He walked out with the black caucus in 2001. Today, he voted "aye." He's a great guy from San Diego. But I never hear him spoken about.

Progressive and very attuned to his constituents. He was willing to meet with a group of writers even though most of us weren't even in his district, and he was willing to try and help us in a dispute with our local newspaper. I have tremendous respect for him.

for city council here in San Diego, another time when he was first running for Congress. He seems totally genuine and not like a typical politician
