Poll question: Do we need Republicans to reform the electoral system?
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 03:38 PM by mzmolly
I say unfortunately, we do.

I voted yes because change comes through legislation and the Republicans are in the majority. Making enemy's by standing "in unison" against the election of * would not have accomplished this. What happened yesterday was the best way to force debate and thus change.

Can those who voted no please indicate how we can change the system without the votes of Republicans in the House/Senate?

1. We do, but that may not be impossible
I know several Republicans who voted for Kerry, and who don't appreciate the current regime. I hope that there are resonable Republicans somewhere in Congress, who can be persuaded that fair elections are a desirable goal. I realize that for the most part our Republican legislators are trying to prevent election reform, but if we can make it a big enough issue (unfortunately without the help of MSM), how many will want to be seen standing against fair elections?

2. I voted yes of course, we need to legislate change and that won't
happen without the R's.

8. Yes, so... Don't get mad, get LOUD!!!
We need to flood the Judiciary Repuglicans with e-mails, letters, and phone calls in order to get them to understand how important this is. They MUST hold FULL investigations with subpeona powers.

The idiots have megaphones, but we have numbers!

The Senate Democrats were cowed, this time by their constituents, into doing what they should have done in 2000. We can't stop now. The ight has only begun!
