BRING D.C. to a STANDSTILL on INAUGURATION DAY if |
|
this is proved beyond a reasonable doubt. Not a million angry Americans, but 5 million angry Americans in D.C. on inauguration day.
I think we need to all recognize that in the America we have now, we are all at risk coming here and writing and reading these things. Our alias names don't in the slightest protect us. But we must not be intimidated. And we must recognize that if all this is true we have two choices: give up on our country, or fight for it. I choose to fight. Give me liberty, or give me death.

3. Will there be a INAUGURATION DAY |
|
If bin Laden hits (and he will) before Inauguration Day, Bush could be very alone that day. :)

5. You don't think OBL won't wait until Jan 20? |
|
Why an inaguration day present would be fitting from OBL. Thanking the American people...

4. Who says his swearing in will be public? |
|
He could very easily do it privately in the Oval Office. There's nothing that says it needs to be public. And they're sure as hell aren't gonna let him see protestors.

7. Chimp thinks he's king or emperor. |
|
He'll want a big, splashy public coronation. The jackboots will deny all permits. A million or more determined protestors will be hard to keep under wraps though. I smell a red alert coming.

any angry procession will bring out the troops to fire on us.
a peaceful procession might do the same.
would people going to DC 2 x2 , not in buses, but just to visit the sites, and happen to stop and stand in front of the WH silently - until there are 5 million people there, wearing black armbands bring out the troops?
could be.
we are dealing with a nutcase in the WH.
And that is a danger to the country and to our life and limb.
Think it out....
I too would like to see eveyone standing there silently , like they did to Milosevic, until he capitulated...
what can be done without bringing out troops to shoot on us?
Maybe not going to work - but it would have to be everybody not going to work...
bringing the country to a stand still - no buying for a week, no food , no gas, no buying of anything and standing in front of the white house quietly?????
ideas of this type?????

9. I've said before: National Strike |
|
Someone responded that there would be too many people lining up to take jobs. But that's not what a National Strike is. A National Strike is when you don't buy, go to work, everybody in every major city would block freeways. One team on every major freeway the first day, then another team, the next day (assuming the first get arrested), etc.
You bring the country to a stop.

14. Well the point is essentially to stop things functioning. |
|
There are all kinds of ways to do it. Obviously you don't show up for work (a risk to be sure). But you also quit paying your bills on time, you quit buying from traditional stores and buy ONLY the bare essentials of food (no more movies, or goodies from the mall). If you have to buy clothes you buy them from thrift shops. You also take all of your money out of banks and/or markets and convert it to cash. Every single morning every major freeway is blocked by a team of people right at rush hour. It's done the next day, and the next day, and the next day, etc. Houston, LA, Dallas, NY, DC, Atlanta, day after day after day all the major cities. The costs become tremendous for the economy. We could probably also add some new concepts with the Internet, sending out things to clog the internet and slow it down.
Of course you realize (I know I do) that these things are probably being read by Ashcroft and his cronies. And our alias doesn't protect us. And I am nowhere ready to say it should be done - unless it becomes apparent (and virtually certain) that they stole the election.
Even if they didn't steal the election I am doing nothing whatsoever to support the Chimp's economy to look good this year or for any of the years he's in power.

I tried and tried posting to get links to foreign/European equivalents of DU. I think we need to push the idea of boycotting American products. I already think that there will be a serious drop-off in many goods as the world truly begins to feel discusted with Americans.

13. Ok , let's go to "States on DU" and ask them for a national strike |
|
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 07:30 PM by Pallas180
explain it and ask them to pass the word.
When does it start?
and how long does it last?
And by the way...leave the internet alone.
They would love it if communications were stopped.

15. Some wise words from shylurker and Sally |
|
I love the black armband idea Pallas, in fact I love both ideas but it would take at least 6 months to get it all organized. MoveOn.org could do it with their data base, however I cannot think of anything, even the black arm band idea that GW wouldn't bring out the troops. He has a mandate to do whatever he wants, he told us so at his press conference the other day. There have been some sporadic demonstrations in California and Ohio, don't know about Florida or anyplace else except other countries.

I don't think huge marches mean anything to Smirky&Co. Millions of people marched all over the planet and Smirky&Co still marched off to war. Earlier the huge march in Washington in support of women. The marches in NYC. They pay no attention to marches. And the additional problem now is they used so much of the "Homeland Security" funds to arm the local police and sheriffs with crowd control horrors (rather than securing vulnerable places), that I don't think they're worried in the least that we might march and even get carried away and get out of hand (whether instigated by provocateurs or not). They'll just shoot us down with cayenne-loaded bullets (that are "usually" not lethal), pepper gas the living daylights out of us, round us up in pens and fling us into short-term (I hope) gitmo-lite places, turn those lovely super-noise and microwave crowd control devices on us and on and on. I don't think our being assembled in huge numbers matters any more. General Strike could be effective, I believe, peaceable blocking of traffic. We'd just have to make absolutely sure our people are thoroughly imbued with nonviolent techniques and take no chances to get the heavily armed officials riled up. 'Course now that he has determined he has a mandate, Smirky just might order them to let loose on us no matter how peacefully and orderly freeways and roadways are occupied.
