I'm curious-- did any of you get exit polled or even SEE an exit poller
on Nov. 2?

I posted this:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x265244

And this thread came up later:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=203&topic_id=265998#266982

It seems there is some question about how "real" the exit polls were.

If the exit polls were fakes based on pre-election polling it might explain some things.

Any out there with first-hand info on the polls, please let us know!

15. 13,000 OUT OF 120 MILLION = 1 OUT OF 9231
There are 60000+ DUers from Day One, many of whom are now gone.

How many do you think read your post?

If 60,000 did, we could expect around 9 to have been exit polled.

More likely, at most 1000 or so read your post.

So 1 out of 1000 is a lot.

7. No
but that's not unusual. 100,000,000 people voted. I doubt they exit-polled more than 100,000 people (and probably less) - about one in one thousand.

There are, at most, 60,000 DUers (probably more like 20-30k active members, and only a few thousand who will see this post).

But even if ALL DUers saw this, the DU population is .0006% of all voters.

I read people on FreeRepublic complain all the time that "they've never been polled, so therefore polls are bullshit." It's not true. It's just a misunderstanding of the numbers involved.

I've been polled a few times. I think I read that most people are likely to be polled about once every 10 years.

11. You're right-- if no one said they had been polled that wouldn't mean much
But----- we have a winner! Someone here says they were polled! So, we can rest a little easier now.

14. No in OK, but you can't expect them to mess
with polling in that state (although they did push poll heavily).

19. Never been exit polled. Never done a Nielsen rating.
Notified for jury duty only once but never called to serve.

No points against me on my drivers licence.

But I did have seven voice messages reminding me to vote for John Kerry on Nov.2. Which means I am not living under a rock!!!
