2. Don't get mad, get LOUD!!!
We need to flood the Judiciary Repuglicans with e-mails, letters, and phone calls in order to get them to understand how important this is. They MUST hold FULL investigations with subpeona powers.

<http://judiciary.house.gov/contact.aspx>

The idiots have megaphones, but we have numbers!

The Senate Democrats were cowed, this time by their constituents, into doing what they should have done in 2000. We can't stop now. The Fight has only begun!

6. Another fine organization
and from what I understand, will be working closely with PDA. Already our local caucus (www.udpc.org) is working closely with Democracy for Utah (http://www.democracyforutah.com/). The UDPC endorsed Kucinich for president and obviously democracy for utah was working to get Dean elected but after the primaries, we've been working together much more closely. In fact, Peter Corroon, Dean's first cousin, became Salt Lake County's Mayor this election.

Get active locally! :)

16. Good. But also give your money to the progressive and not the party
The party has a bad tendency to misuse money for social gatherings where the concservatives get together and figure out how to screw their liberal members. When we take over the party and stop this social nonsense, then we should start donating again.

27. Great idea. We have already started in Columbus, OH. We were
really organized due to the emphasis placed on us during the campaign. I was at a meeting today with former area organizers from different areas of the city. We are also working with a professsor of political science from OSU, as well as a gentleman with expertise in Campaign Management , Speech Acts, and Spiral Dynamics (very interesting) to form an alliance for change. I suggest that organizers that reside in college towns use the faculty resources available to them. A lot of college professors are good democrats. Best of Luck to you!

Clark was one of the most Liberal of the 10 candidates. He voted for Clinton TWICE. He voted for Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004. Being repuke light has gotten us where we are today. It's not a good place to be, in case you haven't been paying attention.

51. helderheid's right, jsw...
Movements that take a strong, idealized stance are stronger and more popular - because people can have confidence in them. In 2000, Bush** said something to the effect of, "I may not know where Kosovo is, but I know what I believe."

Progressives can't understand how someone can brag of their lack of knowledge and still be popular to a segment of the public. But the key is the second half of that sentence: "I know what I believe." Many average folks don't understand all the political nitty gritty, so they want to know they can trust their leaders to act decisively. That's why that statement works.

Our values - Progressive values - are, in the words of George Lakoff, the best in American values. Hope, opportunity, equality, responsibility, compassion. When we come out strong for those values, it's not about "so far to the left" or right, it's about some the most dearly treasured values held by the American people.

So what's the problem?

NGU.

52. absolutely
and what people need to understand is that "republican" and "democrat" hold very little meaning now - they are both "corporate" . People from all sides need to come together to take back our country. That's one of the reasons I HATE it when I see name calling like "repugs" and "repukes". I know republicans that voted * in 2000 and were major Dean and Kerry supporters in 2004.
