California dreaming -- on such a winter's day.....
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 02:53 AM by Senior citizen
It was a great day for the Congressional Black Caucus, for us, and for Rep. Bob Filner (D)CA, of San Diego. In 2000, he stood up with the CBC to protest the Florida fraud. I was watching on C-Span and I didn't know who he was back then, but I was proud to see one white face there.

I met him later on, and asked him why there was no senator to sign, and why no other representatives joined them. He said he had expected other liberal representatives to follow him down the aisle, but when he looked back, there was nobody there.

This time the CBC and Filner weren't alone, and there was a senator--my very own senator from California. We have Filner, we have Boxer, and we have Maxine Waters. I think it is time for us to secede.

I hereby invite any members of the Congressional Black Caucus, and anyone else who voted aye, to move to California and join the good guys. And that goes for Michael Moore too. Quit slogging through the snow and learn to surf--or at least get a tan. I'm proud of my state, I'm proud of my homeys, and I want everyone to know it. We rock!

10. I was wrong-- only 31 reps & one senator.

I just compared the list to the CBC membership list and there were 11 votes from reps who aren't CBC members, including Filner and Kucinich.

And 7 of the 32 are from California.

3. Good idea.

But I'm not sure they'd want us back--they view their northern neighbor as totally corrupt. And they're right.

8. I do think he's getting in trouble about that soon.
But you think they will sacrifice him, then put someone else in? How does that work?

And do they really need "votes"? After all, they can just create them.

They cant most Republician need votes too. Not in their interest to have this going on. And there is alot of international pressure on the chimp. He go and cheese off every other nations with his claim to lead a coalition of nations. India. Japan and Australia then he claim to add UN to this coalition. Jan 6th Summits of Donors nations strip off all clothes from the emperor. India bought into the Russia oil company for 15%. Australia and Japan up the aid package, clear signal to Bush to get lost. EU make their move after its clear that Bush and co wont be involve. The Islamic nation will make their move soon too. Poor Annan has a big headache from Bush with all the rants.
Please go find out why Annan was in Wyoming on 31st DEC.
Line drawn words spoken now time for action. For US to slove their national debts problems they need the help of all nation. If all these countries start playing hardball US is in for a very rough 2005.

13. Hmmm... I am a 54 yr old native Californian
Can't get too smug.

This is the state that gave us TrickyDick Nixon, Deukmajian, Reagan (of the National Guard occupying Berkeley and shooting an unarmed citizen and military tanks in town. The guy who said, "You've seen one tree, you've seen em all"). The state that has a movie-star groper as a Governor now.

15. Ahnold is trouble waiting to happen. He's a social moderate but
an avenue for the other side to consolidate more power. I worked the recall. SF County was something like 89% against.
