Republicans to contest Wash. governor's race
Republicans have no problem contesting elections, despite all the baloney they were spouting on 1/6/05 about the Democrats. First, California, where they managed to overturn a duly elected Grey Davis, now this. Yet if democrats "question" an election...we are "sore losers" This is why 1/6/05 was so important & why I had hoped our party would have stood & voted together. Rep Conyers investigation isn't even completed. Yet we should back off. Watch how these republicans handle it. They will stop at nothing, despite what you call them. Perhaps that is why I am so angry with those democrats who refused to back Senator Boxer with their votes.

Republican challenges Washington vote
Democrat won governor’s election by 129 after two recountsThe Associated Press
BELLEVUE, Wash. - Republican Dino Rossi and the state GOP announced Friday they will contest the gubernatorial election that gave his Democratic foe, Christine Gregoire, a 129-vote victory.

Republicans have been building a case over the past few weeks, gathering evidence of voting irregularities, including illegal provisional ballots and a handful of votes cast by dead people. They are pushing for a revote, an unprecedented step in a statewide election. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6793577 /

how much money is going to be spent?,

the American People want to get over this,

you can't just keep recounting until it goes your way,

this is gonna fuel the terrorists 'cause their against freedom"

Blah, blah, blah. Assholes. They should revote I'm all for it. REVOTE. Paper and pencils like Canada.

3. Devil In The Details
If you get down to the end of the MSNBC article, the state Dem spokesman puts it in perspective - it's not fraud, then there is no case.

Every state has evidence of the exact same type of 'anomalies', but without evidence of fraud, the Republicans have no case. None of the challenges filed in Ohio so far, are based on such charges. Plus, the Republicans cannot dismiss such evidence in Ohio, and then use it as the basis for their challenge in Washington.

4. They'll Win Washington Before It's All Over
The repubs won't give up until they achieve the victory they already thought they had successfully stolen in November. No way they let this one slip away.

This will be another circumstance where democrats have the ability to show what they're made of. Scrape together some shred of dignity, but I'm not counting on it.

5. if you haven't read the insider account of the King County recount
you should do so... I agree with the last excerpted paragraph above this is a campaign they are waging to "build a case"... more of the GOP lounge (from the insiders account) efforts.
