BBV working on Ohio

Hi fellow DUers,

Just wanted to let you know that Black Box Voting emailed me to say that they are working on Ohio.

I emailed them on Thursday after the Ohio electoral vote challenge as I was in a bit of turmoil - as most of us were. I wanted to know what work was still going on in Ohio and since I had donated to BBV in November I figured I'd see what they had in mind.

They have done FOIA requests on all Ohio counties and are working on organizing the results. They aren't sure by Ohio law they can get the actual ballots to count but are working on it.

Most interestingly however is this:

So work is still going on on hopefully many legal and activists fronts.

That made me breath a little easier this morning :)

2. With all the news and confusion of BBV can we actually trust anything

said or e-mailed by them. I just meant when I heard Bev on Randi's show and her response to a question a friend of mine asked her I am being to wonder if this is actually going to find the truth.

..right after the election and so figured I had the right to inquire regarding Ohio.

Whatever the controversy - I want everyone and their uncle breathing down Blackwell's neck.

I pray something significant is accomplished but even if we only prevent him being rewarded for his crimes as Katherine Harris was - that's something.

Imagine, investigating fraud in Florida and Ohio (and who knows where else) ALL BY HERSELF. 8. I think BBV has the right idea: work on the small you can do, not...

the big thing at the end you have little control over. Growth is always here a little there a little, line upon line, precept upon precept, etc. That's the way anythinf of valure grows. We want to focus on and blame the media too much it seems to me when that's the last step and there are a lot of things that each person can do right now to inform individuals in your own area: call some official and talk to him/her about a paper trail and audited elections, letters to editor, wearing an orange arm band (and being ready to answer questions posed about why you're wearing it), buying copies of Harris's book BBV and passing around copies to those who might be influenced, tellng all friends about it who will listen, passing out copies of mss like Freeman's study, etc. etc. Having audited elections is a bi-partisan issue and should have bi-partisan support.

14. With all due respect, Ohio doesn't need BBV.

The investigation in Ohio continues regardless of BBV. I donated to BBV after the election and I wish I hadn't.

It's hard enough already to get people to see the legitimacy of the investigation. Cobb, Arnebeck, Truit and others have done a good job keeping the investigations and suits on the level.

We don't need any bad press and it seem to follow in the wake of BBV. I would be happy to donate to BBV again if they would STAY OUT of Ohio. I'm very serious. For the sake of this fragile movement, please send BBV somewhere else.

Again with all due respect, the timing and motives of BBV is questionable. Have they completed any of current investigations they have reported in other states? They seem to be going to places where they can get the most attention and donations. I am concerned that previous problems surrounding BBV will just follow them into Ohio (Bad press in FL, questionable management decisions, suspicious finances, eternal rumors and arguments... and on).

Ohio needs investigators with the best of intentions. Ohio needs investigators that can work in a team environment. Ohio needs investigators who do not hold back information from the rest of the team.

If you only knew how close we came to not having a Senator to sign the challenge then you would understand how fragile this situation is. Another event like the one in Florida where BBV interrupted a meeting of election officials would have probably been enough to de-legitimize the efforts in Ohio. There is a great chance that Boxer couldn't have signed if there had been an event in Ohio like this.

I second that. Where's all the Florida evidence of fraud? Now they're finished with Florida and moving on to the next state..... What's the purpose if nothing is being done with the evidence? What good is evidence many years from now? We know Gore won in 2000 but what did that get us? That squatter is still in the Whitehouse with no plans of leaving. Finding out Kerry won the election a year from now will not change the results. Bush will still be the acting President.
